Members archofmusic
That's funny. I guess you expect Behringer to have an Official Stance on the question of cloning but you never expect to hear it. Or for them to flat out deny it. I guess if you can think of it like re-engineering existing pedals to make them more cost effective. In the industry we call it Value Engineering. Members NetStar
They did conceive the idea of taking a pedal, making it for less monies, putting it in a plastic case, plastic packaging andselling it for cheaper. At the end of the day, they did design those cases as a direct result of not being able to completly rip Boss off...
Members TheGareth
lol'd all around. i thought they were going to say............. "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWw {censored} man, you got us!" Imagine if they said "please don't let out our secret, give us your paypal address and we will pay you 10 million euro to be quiet."Fabulous avatar, BTW. Members Pankot
I couldn't help but notice that they spelled designed "desinged". I guess they design the plastic housing No, they spelt it right. What they do is buy up all the old BOSS etc pedals that have been blown by users not using official BOSS PSUs... remove the singe marks (thus creating "de-singed" pedals), re-house in a new plastic case and viola! Members billboneys
Never really paid much attention to these pedals. How are they. I know they're cheap but do they sound good?
Members TheGareth
Never really paid much attention to these pedals. How are they. I know they're cheap but do they sound good? I think that some of them sound OK, but some are pretty bad. Different people will say different things about them as it depends on what gear you have. I have the TO800 Vintage Tube Overdrive and I really like it. It doesn't have much volume but it is a great sounding pedal and was only
Members Agreed
I like at least two of them that I've heard, the Ultra Metal and the GDI21. The Ultra Metal is supposed to be a Boss Metalzone-alike, but it doesn't sound like a Metalzone, more like the Zoom Tri-Metal (which is widely regarded as a much better pedal). The GDI21 I ended up buying (well, I had them throw it in with an amp I bought). It sounds great, at least as good as the Tech21 Sansamp that it's copying. I had a Sansamp and sold it because I didn't think it was very authentic, but I'm keeping this. Not sure what they changed to make it legal to sell the damned thing, but whatever it is was an improvement. It sounds great into a PA, and it can be used as a really tight boost into a dirty amp to bring the metal.
