Members OMFUG
Check out the Ibanez FZ-7... it's capable of some pretty dirty fuzz, and they're pretty cheap on fleabay. I just picked one up last week, and I'm pretty impressed with the range of fuzz it can deliver. Just be aware it has the same problem all of the Tone-Lok pedals do-- hart to get to engage due to switch location, you really have to stomp it right. I have been very curious about the FZ-7 and PM-7 since I bought my DE-7. This seems to be a pretty decent series for not much $$.
Members gambit
I'm glad you posted ... I have been very curious about the FZ-7 and PM-7 since I bought my DE-7. This seems to be a pretty decent series for not much $$. i have all 3 of those. all decent for the money but within the series there are differences with the switches which are notoriously iffy. the DE-7 and PM-7 have the good switch. the FZ-7 doesn't.. that, and my LF-7, both have an annoying tendency to switch on when you press down but not fully engage, so when you lift your foot off it switches off again. you have to hit it a few times until it catches. luckily i don't gig, but its a pretty big issue. the FZ-7 does have a decent fuzz sound though. the gate on it is really nice.. not tweakable likea zoom ultra fuzz for example, but it does the doom metal breaking up sound, and the other modes have gobs of sustain.
