How do you feel about big pedalboardz?

I am going to downsize. Not that I have to, but because I want to. I would rather have fewer really good effects than a lot of mediocre ones. Of course as I say this, I'm going to be adding more soon, lol but my goal is tohave less. Problem is I love different kinds of dirt pedals, so limiting myself is hard. If I played out live, I think I would have a simpler setup, but at home, there isn't the need to necessarily do that. But I want to play more, and fiddle less.

I'd say it's all completely suggestive to what you play.

I could go a gig with my amp, guitar, dist. pedal and a delay. It might not sound as it normally does, but it could be done, and the audience wouldn't tell a huge difference. :idk: And yet, I have 7 or 8 or something more pedals because I enjoy them.

So, to answer your question, I don't know how I feel about them. I need to listen to the kind of music the person plays first.

I don't mind a big board, cause I have longer legs. But if I can't stand in one spot and comfortably reach the farthest pedal on either end, then I can't dig it. I really only like to see two rows of pedals on a board, as well. Tiers are really cool me thinks.

Stuff like John Frusciante's board is just a bit too much for me. :freak:

I like my board's size. I have 5 pedals on it now. Downsized from 12 last month. I've got two coming. I think I will settle down at about 7. If I had to, I could make it on one. My 808 clone would be enough for me. My amp has spring reverb.

I have a larger pedal board. Whenever I was jamming steadily with a group I would keep it down to around 5 pedals. But whenever I fall out with those guys and just jam in my room, my board always expands to around 12 (including an expression pedal for a pedal). I think its because I have more of a use for the extra sounds... practicing with a loop pedal and all. I think I may actually order a "5 pedal" board someday, so I don't have all that tempting blank space.

i love small boards. That said, i just have so much more fun with my big board. I love having 4 delays, 2 phasers, 2 fuzzes, a looper, all this stuff. I have 13 pedals on my board at the moment.

BTW, you got me hooked on HBE pedals.. thanks a lot!! :poke:

My little big muff + a tubescreamer type od is all I will ever need.:thu:

EDIT: but I do have roughly a dozen pedals on board...once you factor in octaves, chorus, delays, reverbs, a ring mod, and other things....
