Members taisuan
i'm looking for a crunch/overdrive/light distortion pedal and was wondering whether there's one which sounded: - transparent- extremely dynamic- tube-amp like- NO mid-hump i play with a clean amp (solid state and tube) and depend on crunch/overdrive/light distortion pedal for dirty rhythm/lead. i'm looking to get a gain/drive pedal to drive my cleap amp. i don't use the overdrive/distortion from the amp. can you guys suggest a pedal(s) which resembles the description above? i don't need a high gain pedal. you can check out the tone/sound that i'm looking for here: http://www.uglymen.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/Alienoid11.mp3http://www.uglymen.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/Alienoid1.mp3 to my ears, the clip sounds like treble boosting crunch that is transparent and dynamic. i'm searching high and low for a pedal to drive my CLEAN amp. please don't flame me because have searched thru the forum for such effect pedal but can't seem to find any close similarity. please advise. thanks very much. tai suan

Members DADGADammit
sounds like a treble booster or a gritty clean boost is what you're looking for. depending on what kind of amp you are using, and how cranked it is, you might just need a regular boost

Members Jules-RM
The clips wouldn't load for me btw, maybe my connection is tanking. The SR is listed under the "custom shop" section of the site, link is in the top left. If treble booster is what you want, it wont cut it. But it is a VERY flat EQed pedal in the mids and seems to add both a touch more bass and a little sparkle in the high end. My strat loves it.
