Distortion with EQ

Good question. All the 3-band pedals I have used of are high gain, and I would really like something that was the equivalent of an OD-3 with a 3-band eq instead of one measly HF-rolloff "tone" knob.

(Yes, I know, just buy a Danelectro FnC.... well I have.. I still want it in one pedal darn it!!)

Ok, let's try Google...

This has the 3-band, but is overly complex for my tastes:

Carl Martin's "The Fuzz", which is more of a distortion than a fuzz, has 3-band eq.

The Digitech DF-7 distortion factory has 3-band eq with adjustable mid freq, which is great - but note that it is a digital modelling pedal, which isn't to everyone's tastes.

The Tech 21 sansamp "character series" pedals all have traditional bass/mid/treble controls.

HTH!

This is the pedal I am trying to replace.

I have the silverkiss and with my telecaster that has lower output pickups, the gain is not high enough.

I really like a Rat I am trying, but wanted to see if there are other options.

Wampler Brent Mason Hotwired OD/Dist. Switchable bass control; two 'channels' with separate gain, tone and volume; plenty of gain on channel two. Classy sound, specially calibrated for Telecasters (well, it is a Brent Mason pedal..:)) It's a winner for me. No 3 band EQ though, although the separate tones and bass selector kind of make up for it.

That Hotwired OD sounds amazing.

Yeah, it's a special one, that's for sure. I reckon a lot of work went into getting it right. I've got one of Wampler's Pinnacle 2's as well and it's good but the Hotwired is a class above.
