Members CountGrishnackh
I'm looking to throw in a DS-1 into a strat, which is also routed in the back, so there is room. Does anyone have links to sites with infomation on how to wire a pedal into a guitar? I've heard of people doing it before...i'm just not sure how to go about wiring it in. Thanks in advance. Members SUPER VELCROBOY
hm, the pcb for a ds-1 is pretty big so I'm surprised to hear you say there is room in your strat. i personally do not recommend putting a pedal into a guitar, mainly because there is minimal gain if any. But if you must do it, it is simple enough. After the volume control on your guitar, hook it up in line with your ds-1 and ground the guitar to the circuit. Connect the battery. It's pretty straight forward. you may be interested in this.http://store.guitarfetish.com/modboards.html
Members Kayzer
...just velcro it on your guitar so you are also able to change the pedals on the fly...

That is how it's going to be done in the future, i would expect. Pedalboards will be a thing of the past. All the effects literally at your fingertips. Members DADGADammit
who knows what the future holds, but i think its feasible. matt bellamy has one of those overpriced fuzzfaces in one of his guitars doesn't he?

Members TomCTC
Variax FTL.I really like the acoustic models on it, and the sitar/banjo/resonator models sound great. Not a fan of the electric guitar models though. The Line 6 guitars are horrible looking and feeling. If they would license the technology out as Fishman and LR Baggs does with their stuff in little installable kits, it'd be awesome to have that in a Telecaster or equivalent for live use/recording.All for $500. Plz.

Members Jbrazz
i love that ribbon controller! they only reason a pedal should be in a guitar is if its a pedal that needs to be tweeked while playing. distortion = no kaoss pad on LFO setting = Yes. Members Jbrazz
round and round we go! It's how it was done in the past! so true. any one remember when nike came out with those nylon bags with the straps made out of shoes laces? it was like a small makshift bakepack made for kids taking their stuff to basketball practice or what ever. well now they have thicker staraps and extra pokets and bigger compartments. it turned back into a backpack. it all goes full circle. Just because they never got it right doesn't mean it can be done. People say the same thing about modeling but look at some of the stuff from axe-fx. The MPCs were actually quite cool and, I though, good playing guitars)if you stop, breath, and take a moment to think abt it -- round and round implies that it tends to come back (then maybe disappear, then come back)The " wave of the future is", often, the way of the pastso maybe someone else is "missing the point" .... Members Maharg
In Matt Bellamy's guitar it is actually an x y pad connected to a kaoss pad. Here's a video of it being demonstrated. I know it is just technicalities. http://youtube.com/watch?v=B-4lPjRsrIA

You said you never made a value judgement? Ugh you just did! But whatever, you are just tossing opinions just like me. In the end it's not going to make any difference. Members slight-return
not picking on your post, just bringing up some thngs you might not have been aware of You said you never made a value judgement? Ugh you just did! As in the "might be missing the point"? ell, I'm not sure i's really a value judgement, but beyond that, we've got another issue with the nalysis if I say "I never shot someone" - OK that can be true Then, say, 5 minutes later, I shoot someone Well, the "I never" statement was previous[ to the shooting action - a statement of "I never" would have been true, a statement (and notice the difference here) of "I will never" wouldnt be true It's a linear time thing - now it is 4-20, so maybe you are currently in a, shall we say, non-linear-time mode But whatever, you are just tossing opinions just like me. . Well, that those other units existed in the past is not so much an opinion...unless, of course, tha 420 thing is applying
