Members drasp
I'm looking for someone to do me a HUGE solid and go check out this amp. You can catch up on my sob story in this thread, but basicly, I paid Steve Gibbs of the Audio Bros. for an amp just like this one & he disappeared with my money in the year 2000. Now there is one on eBay, which, as you can imagine doesn't happen very often, but the seller has ZERO feedback. . .Guh! I just want someone, a 3rd party, to go verify that the amp is real. Anyone know where Fairview is? I'll give you a cookie. . .
Members SharkMinusBear
best of luck man, I hope you can find someone willing to do this for you. Make sure you pay through paypal regardless for the fraud protection.
Members drasp
Totally. Only way I'll do this deal is if a forumite goes to see it, then I'd fund PayPal w/ AmEx and STILL be nervous until it was in my hands. . .

Members drasp
Sorry, I should've been more clear. Cookie comes AFTER I gets HIWATT. It's a bribe cookie.

Members NoirAbattoir
A cookie isn't much considering it's a $1,400 dollar amp. How about $50 bucks plus gas costs?
Members drasp
A cookie isn't much considering it's a $1,400 dollar amp. How about $50 bucks plus gas costs? Are you volunteering? I'm sure we could work out some pedal compensation, or money if that's what you want. I don't really want to send anyone on an errand they wouldn't enjoy, but at the same time I know what free time can be worth! Anyone who is interested, please PM me. Members drasp
Just got more pictures of the amp - I'm really starting to think I need to move on this. I'd need to sell either my Vibroverb or Champ + some pedals to offset the cost, but I think, in the end, finally getting to own the amp I paid for the first time almost 10 years ago would be worth it. I can always find another VVRI or Champ. . . Any thoughts? I'm getting a little buggy!
Members starsailor803
Man, If I didn't live 8 hours away I'd love to check it out for you. Good luck, hope you get it. I'm already jealous. I want a Hiwatt really bad.

Members olejrod
yeah, costly.40-50 bucks to someone you don't know, almost 5 hours round trip on the interstate is not something i just do for {censored}s and giggles, oddly enough.excuse me for posting, i was just figured i'd be one of the closet to the item to help the guy. Members drasp
Sri - Thanks for posting, it sounds like the amp is probably too far from you to be worthwhile checking out. I'm still kind of hoping someone will post that they're 5min. away, work from home & have tons of free time & love HIWATTs so it'd be fun for them - know what I mean? The stars will have to align perfectly for me to end up with this amp, I'm not going to force it.
Members New Trail
......Any thoughts? I'm getting a little buggy! This whole thread's a little buggy IMO. If you want this amp so badly why don't you just make a deal with the seller and drive up from St. Pete and buy it outright and pick it up at the same time? Members gnashville
argh...if only I'd seen this thread earlier in the week. I have sessions and out of town gigs til Monday. Fairview is about 10 min from me. I'm in downtown Franklin (suburb of Nashville) and is a mecca for country and CCM artists/musicians. I understand your concern, but considering the seller's other auctions, it looks legit. Looks like he's a pro or semi-pro player...considering the western shirts (stage clothes?) he has up for auctionFairview is a a little hippie community with more than a few Americana-music-types in the population. At the very least, I'll contact him via ebay and see what I can find out. Are you wondering if this is the one that escaped you? Or are you making sure it exists before you try to purchase? Members drasp
Wanting to make sure it exists & works before buying from someone with Zero feedback. Wouldn't worry if the guy had 50+ feedback or something like that. You're 100% right about the other items he is selling - doesn't SEEM like a scam, but neither did the FIRST time I paid $1400 for an Audio Bros. SA112. I'd rather be OVERLY cautious the 2nd time around than get burned again. . . PM on the way!
Members Loobster
Just to make you feel sick, I'm getting the DR103 in 2 weeks. A little bashed up but for $900, I can live with that.
