Line 6 RACK Modelers - who has them?

i have the line 6 dl-4 and fm-4, and they are great. of course. but i didn't realize there were rack versions of the dl-4, fm-4, and mm-4. with midi sync. and you can pick your tweak and tweeze modes.

are these things worth having over the stompboxes? of course i mean only if you use them in the studio. my pedals are all on a table. the fm-4 with more settings would be awesome. and i was thinking the dl-4 would be better if you could pick the modulation on the delay, which looks like you can do on the rack version

who has these?

i'm really thinking about getting that and replacing my fm-4, which is one of my most used pedals. does anyone know how much these retailed for and a reason why i should or shouldn't replace my fm-4 with the rack version?

they are all discontinued. i dont think they make a DM4 rack version do they

they seem to go for pretty cheap on the bay

yeah doesn't look like there is a rack dm4. i'm sure you can get all the crappy line 6 distortion in the pod rack :(. i don't want that though!

I think they only made the Mod Pro, Filter Pro and Echo Pro. Occasionally idiots try selling all three for insane sums :)

from looking at the m13 manual it looks like you can change all the mod settings... hmm m13 = tempo syncing greatness though.

hmm.. i'm really thinking about getting the rack fm-4. it would really help if anyone has actually used one. hmmm

I now have all three in the loop of my POD XT Pro, so I'm selling my stompbox versions (spam!sorry).

Linking all the rack units with MIDI cables means you can tap in a tempo on the Pod and all the --4s will synchronize.

Lots of presets, plus XLR ins and outs. It's good having the tweek & tweez parameters displayed becuase they're often all different when switching through the models. Also useful to have displays that can display tempo in bpm, Hz or seconds.

There is one DM4 rack unit in existence. It's a custom one-off for The Edge.

He used the DM-4 for the distortions on the latest u2 album, but would have needed to take a lot of DM-4's on the road for all the sounds he used, so they had Line 6 make him a rack unit with all the presets
