Members archlilim
I'm looking at the ZVEX Fuzz Factory to get a pretty broad array of distortion from Fuzz Face to really out there tones. There was also the Red Witch Fuzz God II that kind of fits into that--any others suggestions?
Members TechBrother
Play one before you buy. Some love it and some hate it.
Members Instrospection
It's my cheapest fuzz, but the Ibanez FZ-7 Fuzz is cool, plus it has a damage switch for really broken sounds that the FF specializes in, but it has a better overall frequency range (ie: better lows, a tone knob). It sucks alot of tone when off, though. A cool unexpected fuzz is the Boss Power Driver--it has bass and mid knobs and no tone so it tends to be a bit buzzy, but you may dig it....it's more a "fuzzstortion", retaining alot of clarity that fuzzes lack, but also much fuzzier than a regular distortion. Because it's neither a fuzz or distortion, it tends to get alot of hate, but it's got a pretty cool sound that I like.

Members starsnuffer
FGII is silicon, FF is geranium. Two very different animals. It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish and what provisions your signal chain has (FF generally sounds like ass anywhere but first in a signal path). -W
Members the Dust
Zoom UltraFuzz. its sound is more of a distortion than a fuzz... its way more versatile than the Fuzz Factory and have some crazy sounds too... they wont give you a Fuzz Face kinda sound, the FFactory is very trebly-ish, while the FFace is more bassy and muddy sounding... Members StompboxMan
If you stop off at the Fuzz Factory and experience so many tones, I doubt you'd need another fuzz pedal because there's nothing like a Fuzz Factory for sheer madness in the hands of an innovative guitarist! Members PeelingPaint98
If you are looking at paying Fuzz Factory prices get a Death By Audio Supersonic Fuzz Gun instead, better bottom end, better feature set
Members billboneys
Not sure which member on here was selling a "Wolf Fuzz" of some sort but if I didn't have a Fuzz Factory already I would consider that. I think it was like $100 and very similar in my opinion. I have a FF and I'm really not impressed with it that much. Probably mostly because I'm lazy and haven't spent a lot of time with it. It sounds great on the usable settings but the crazy settings are sometimes hard to manage (again i'm sure due to my laziness). If I were to lose mine I would probably replace it with something like the wolf fuzz that sounds similar and is at a little better price point for me. Just my opinion though. I would agree to check out the Death by Audio as well. Up there in price too though and you don't see many on resale. ***EDIT*** I believe the user is letsgocoyote Mellowtone pedal I think it is called Wolf Computer Fuzz maybe? ***EDIT*** After a little more research. http://www.letsgocoyote.com/mellowtone/

Members willburford
I find that in my case the fuzz factory really only has like 4 or 5 sounds. The rest are either really similar, or oscillate when you aren't playing which is really annoying. sometimes tries to oscillate when you are playing which is the most annoying. though I kind of already knew that when I bought it, so I'm not complaining. I like mine, it's pretty sweet.
Members janimarj
I find that in my case the fuzz factory really only has like 4 or 5 sounds. 4 or 5 different, usable sounds is quite good for one pedal. And with the Fuzz Factory in question, the usable sounds are very varied from each other. Many pedals that I like basically have one sound, the rest is slight variation on a theme, but that's not the case with Fuzz Factory.
Members blackjack davey
There's a lot of great tones lurking inside a Fuzz Factory; but it takes patience and knob turning to get there. Plus, if you throw an EQ after it the skies the limit.

I got it set up now where I'm getting Black Keys "just got to be" tones...Its sick. I guess it is a bit trebley compared to a muff at full throttle but personally, that thick pumpkins sound was a bit cool on one record, but it gets old and I definitely would never play anything with that tone. I dig the bitier, grittier fuzzes like the jordan bosstone clones and the fuzz factory and my american big muff with the tone up. You have to play with the FF alot, but its fun and worth it. Members parismotel6
wrong, the fuzz factory is a hybrid silicon/germanium fuzz. wrong again. fuzz fact is a germ fuzz driven by a si input stage. this is distinctly different from the common definition of hybrid fuzz, which refers to a fuzz that mixes ge and si in the actual fuzz stage of the circuit. essentially, the fuzzfact is a germ fuzz.
