Members naisian
Fuzz Faces are verrry easier to build, I made one as my first pedal build. Even if you haven't built any pedal before then you should give it a go.

Members mike.sartori
building a great sounding fuzz face is not that difficult, especially with silicon transistors. Back in the day, Analogman would sell you a sunface board for $1; I am not sure if he still does that, but that's a pretty cheap way to go. You could buy everything you need to build one for about $27.

If you're an electronics novice (or complete eedjit, whichever) it might be safer to buy a kit rather than get all the parts yourself. BYOC sells a Fuzz Face kit, as do General Guitar Gadgets and probably several others. No, seriously, it'll be fun

Members Dinosaur Sr.
Yeah, the JH-2 Classic Fuzz is really good for the $. Has a good amount of gain and it cleans up great. I actually just bought a used MJM London Fuzz off the bay for $100 even. Can't wait to try it out.
