Members Jbrazz
im on my computer, and i hear some banging on my sliding glass window, which is like 5 feet away to my left. i go and pull back the curtains, and there is a guy out there in full camo with a crowbar, trying to pry my door open. i cant stop shaking it was the scariest thing ever. i just got off the phone with the police and they have dogs searching the area, they also think its the same guy that stole my SG out of my car a few weeks back. there have been tons of break ins all over and they have all be done the same way. im really scared to leave my house now. Members bowlingshirt
I had something similar happen several years ago...scary as {censored}. The guy wasn't able to pry open the sliding patio door, tho, and took off. If he was able to get in, it would have gotten real ugly as I had a 38 ready to unload on him. Members Iamtehcure
I feel for ya man. At least you were home to scare him away. I had just moved into a 2nd floor apt a few years back in Boston and woke up one morning to find a guy in my place stealing {censored}. Woke up as he opened my the door to my room, sacred the hell out of me. He told me he was homeless and my door had been open, he was just coming in to tell me. Ended up chasing him out of there with a hammer (1st thing I could grab). Didn't realize until later he had already looted my roommate's stuff and cleaned out the 1st floor apt. Police caught him a couple days later turned out he had a set of keys to the building and had been coming by every couple of weeks for 2 or 3 months. Members carrier street
A couple of weeks ago, a guy died in my front yard. 18 year old kid shot to death by a 17 year old over a bad drug deal. Having a guy bleed out in your front lawn at 11:30 on a Monday night, that'll change your perspective on your neighborhood.

Members melx
what's the law like over there, won't you get sent down for murder if you shoot some guy in the face for trying to get in your window?

Members Monkeywork
tell him, "Aww you woke the baby.." Im not sure an alarm would help. Who pays attention to them? Unless you get an alarm company that would monitor and call the police, even then, he would have enough time to grab stuff and violate your sanctuary. I feel sorry for you and hope it never happens to me.
Members R Corso
what's the law like over there, won't you get sent down for murder if you shoot some guy in the face for trying to get in your window? You gotta wait till he gets in, and hope you don't blow him back out the window. That's why I think a shotgun is a poor choice.
Members rileykill
what's the law like over there, won't you get sent down for murder if you shoot some guy in the face for trying to get in your window? No (at least not here). Texas is a pain in the ass for a lot of reasons ... but the inability to feel secure in your home isn't one of them. If you are shooting to protect your home or family (on your own property), chances are you won't go down.

It depends on the state. Some you can kill em for trying and others you have to show that you were about to be killed.I'm pretty sure that where I live (Maine) you can shoot anyone who comes on your property without permission.
