Does small bear always take forever to ship parts?

I got my enclosures and PC boards days and days ago, COME ON SMALL BEAR! I WANNA BUILD SOME PEDALS!

Yes. This is the main reason I usually order from PPP. They're good people there but the wait time gets me sometimes. I believe they only ship orders on Fridays so take that into consideration next time you order.

i think it's tuesday/thursday or tuesday/friday or something; and if you order wednesday night, you're not making it on thuurs/fri batch so it'll take about a week to ship.

sucks for sure... but where else are you gonna find some of that stuff? PPP for the usual stuff, small bear when you really gotta dig for unusual parts.

I've ordered *checks* 16 times since 2006 orders ranging from twenty bucks to $250. theyve always been real quick about it (two weeks before I recieve it from when I ordered, max) and I'm a country away.

odd...........

maybe its because I consider 10 days to be relitavelly quick

smallbear are extremely busy so it takes a little while.

i use them cause they have a lot of stuff and its easy to find on the site.

ppp is fine for boxes and 3PDT's but they dont have {censored} all compared to smallbear..

then sb has {censored} all compared to mouser and allied, but they still stock NOS and Germanium trannies which the big guys dont.

Yeah, SM is hit and miss. I really like Steve, he's called me when the post office was running slow - he's in Brooklyn so NYC + Civil Service jobs = tough {censored} for you buddy! But I do notice that if you don't order early in the week, it'll be at least a week before you get your stuff. Also, more often than not, something is missing from my orders - so make sure you take stock before you put your stuff away.

PPP is 100% w/ me so far!

I've ordered 2 or 3 times from SmallBear and it's always been ~ 1 week before stuff shipped. No bid deal usually, I just don't order from them when it's time sensitive. I DO like buying from 'the little guy' whenever possible though, and there is the added convenience of having the "good parts" all picked out vs. having to dig through Mouser/Digikey's catalogs. . .

I hate to bring it up but almost every order of mine has had missing parts as well.

I do want to mention an exchange I had with Smallbear a while back, though.

I had ordered something which took forever to get here and it was missing the most important parts I needed. It was also the 2nd or 3rd time I had missing parts. I'd emailed them before a couple times and had never gotten responses. I did eventually get replacement parts but never got any kind of confirmation from them that I had problems. Packages just showed up later with me wondering the whole time.

Anyway, I send them a nasty email because I was sick of not getting answers and missing parts. I demanded they overnight my parts and actually answer my emails. They did overnight them (though it still took 3 days because overnight doesn't really mean overnight in USPS world) and I finally got a response from them. I apologized for being so nasty but I hope they got the point.

I understand being busy.. I've been apart of home businesses that take over your life but you have to make time to communicate with your customers and you have to make sure you at least double check your list when packing orders. Forgetting that many parts is just unacceptable.

well i think there is going to come a day when smallbear wishes its customer service had been better. That day is sooner that you would think. Guys like PPP and effectsconnections and others will sooner or later out compete smallbear for the diy business, and smallbear will be a blip in history.
