tremolo tap tempo

I've got a chance to pick up a Semaphore relatively cheap, but I was looking at the Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter Tremolo mostly because of the tap tempo function. How much of a difference would it really make? Should I just get the Semaphore, or just buy the SD Shape Shifter? Or are there others I should be considering?

Thanks for the help.

You're in Canada... check out the Empress Tremolo, it's full of win :thu:

Honestly just search the forum for tremolo threads, because they always get pretty big and they are always about which is better... the Empress, Semaphore, or the Cusack Tap-a-whirl. Then there's always one guy with too much money who sits in the back saying something about the goatkeeper.

EDIT: the link is in my sig to empress

the empress trem looks sickk. "two speed mode" seems like it can be used in a similar way to the supa trem's full/half speed stomp switch... only with more versatility AND the ability to use it as a tap tempo.

are these easy to get in the US and generally how much do they run new/used?

I'd go for the Cusack. I was one email away from buying it, but ended up holding out for the GK. The cusack is one of the freakin' coolest pedals ever. All those wave forms, tap tempo, a brake function, awesome look, what more could you ask?
