Help with DIY repairs on a Ruskie Big Muff

Well, basically what he ^^ said. The second hand muff which I recently came into doesn't have a working LED, which piqued my strictly amateur electronics side. Ive opened the thing, and have already met my first challenge: getting to the circut itself! The problem is nyah:

Basically, because I can't take out the input and output jacks, can I not get direct access to the circutboard itself? How do I get around this? Will I be able to make some bitchin mods? Find out next post! Hopefully!

And am thinking of removing all the diodes, which is one of the suggestions. Anyone done this, and what's it like?

OKAY! diode seems to be fine and not in need of replacement. No burnt resistors, which must mean a loose connection, which seems the most probable. Will keep looking. Meanwhile, anyone feel free to pipe up with their own mods/advice, nothing is final on this baby, and I wanna hear from people!
