Members cdawzrd
When I used one, it was out front, because I wanted to use it as a volume AND gain control, not just a volume control. I pretty much play at one volume, since I'm always with a band and don't really have a need in my music to play "quiet" passages (not the same as "soft" passages). I have never had the coordination to do the same thing as well with the volume knob of my guitar. I don't use a volume pedal anymore, but I find myself trying to do the same thing with the volume knob occasionally.
Members AaronF
I use it out front. I like how Mark Knophler swells volume and gain, it is kind of a cooler sounding effect than swelling volume alone. I actually have a treble booster before the pedal and a dirt box after, which I use at the same time, so it sounds really weird. I was going to start a thread with clips but both of my amps are getting worked on at the moment.
