How hard is it to swap out a switch?

I have a little box that I use for tap tempo. It works fine but it's a very hard click. Not so perfect for lots of tapping.

First, could I easily switch that out for one that doesn't click? I never done any pedal work, but m sister has and can help me out.

Second, what would I need, something like this?

Thanks y'all

this is what i used for my tap tempo for my dd20

it's just like the switch on the whammy iv if youve ever used one

Mueller, when you use your switch do you notice that the temp changes as you let up on the switch or when you push down? I think I bought a few of those switches and I noticed that if I pressed it down once, waited a second and pressed it down again, the tempo did not change until I released the switch. I think that switch is a Normally Open switch.

Then I got a few of the ones I put in my link and tried wiring each lug to the middle lug. I think that lug 2 and 3 act as Normally Closed. When wired that way, the tempo changes immediately when you press down on it the second time.

Just a heads up to the OP.

OK I will keep that in mind. My gameplan was to look at how it's wired to the switch that's in there now and try to replicate that. If that sounds stupid let me know. Dap you may be getting a pm from me if i find myself covered in stupid.

It's really simple. I haven't made one in a week or so, but I'm pretty sure you use the lug closest to you (#3) and the center lug - based on the pic below. You just wire the Tip of the jack to one of them and the Sleeve to the other one. It doesn't matter which! Easy Breezy. But it that stupid comes about, shoot me a PM

:p

i think it has to do with me playing piano before i ever played guitar...something about releasing the sustain pedal...

hmm that ACTuALLY sort of makes sense. However I played piano first as well and I don't suffer from the same...DISEASE... :freak:;)

It's kinda cool to think of the piano as the first instrument to use effects pedals. 3 onboard effects!

Imagine if it was an arpegiator instead of a sustain pedal
