AC ADAPTOR COMPATIBILITY

Hey all,

I live in New Zealand where the voltage of power plugs is 240v, as opposed to the American 120v.

I'm interested in buying the new Line 6 pedal, the M13 from the US, because it doesn't ship until much later to New Zealand. It however has an included AC adapter which will be for the American specs.

My question is:

Will the unit be damaged when running on the higher voltage, and do I need to wait until it is available with our spec adapter??

Any help much appreciated

:)

Indeed - you can not simply plug in the US-spec adapter, as that will most likely fry the adapter (hopefully not taking the pedal with it, but there's no guarantees for that). A step-down transformer will let you provide the 120v the adapter needs. You could also try to source a local adapter - take note of the output voltage and current capacity of the supplied adapter (e.g. 9vAC, 2000mA) and find one that does this from a 230-240vAC source. For instance, if the M13 uses the same power supply as the PODxt, you can simply buy one of those at your local store.
