Members theinTIMidator
What's the best bang for buck and easiest to use looper, for a bedroom guitarist? RC-2? Can someone also tell me the difference between the RV-3 and RV-5 Reverb?

Members theinTIMidator
rc 2SMMHDL4 I already have a DD-20 for delay. I'm looking more for something to save what I record and use it later.

Members mikey4402
I dont own but i demo the Jamman and thought it was a nice pedal. Better then the RC-2. Anyone elses thoughts on the Jamman? I prefer to do loops with a MIDI pedal and Ableton Live. But im assuming you want it to be simple...so nevermind. Members miggy01
The rv-3 is a discontinued pedal that combines delay and reverb, and can also do them individually rv-5 is just reverb

Members Belt
It's a boss twin pedal. The right side button is a tap tempo. You can tap in a count, press record, 4 counts later it starts recording. There is also a LED flashing with the beat in case you wanted the "drum sound" off. I hated having my DD-5 with no tempo indicator LED.

Members theinTIMidator
So I think I'm going with either an RC-2 or an RC-20XL. Which one do you guys think? Are the extra beats on the XL worth it. Other then that it seems like the same capabilities, from SVB's comparison chart.

So i have to use the mouse to switch between sets. I can que in other pre recorded tracks with the MIDI pedal, like drum tracks, sound bites, etc. (the original reason why i got into Live) i guess it depends when i use the mouse, every couple songs at the end of every song. Im new to live and in order to keep things simple and orgainzed i try to keep a seprate set for each one of my songs. I guess if you used it for looping alone, you wouldnt have to worry much about switching between sets though. But basicly you can do just about anything with the pedal that you can do with the keyboard. For example I can start out by hitting button 1, record a percusion type loop by banging on my acoustic. button 2 play a few chords while 1 is looping. Hit 3 and it drops a pre recorded Hip hop type of beat while the other two loops are looping. and on and on You can also control lights with your pedal. I havnt done this yet, but i know of other who have. If im doing a acoustic/bass/percustion type set i dont use any of my effect boxes. If i use it with my electric and my regular pedal board. I simply only que in sound effects, beats or whatever on a seprate chain then my guitar...no looping

Members Faldoe
I use a Jamman and DD-7. I like the DD-7 because there is no minimum loop length like the Jamman and I think the RC-20 and RC-2 have a minimum of 2.5 seconds or something like that. With that said the DL-4 and Headrush don't have minimums, however these two can't save loops like the Jamman, RC-2 and RC-
Members loomer415
I ditched my RC-2 in favor of the RC-20XL. I only really use it at home for writing so I don't mind less board space. Plus the reverse feature is realllllly sweet if you hook up a footswitch to control it. It's pretty much board space vs. features.
Members rinkrat6821
I'm getting an rc-20xl after messing around with one today. I was going to get the rc-2 before but the xl is a workhorse. It is MUCH MUCH easier to control since you have the dual footswitches and I dig the reverse and tap tempo along with the looping time. It will be SAWEET with my DMM. Plus if you search craiglist in various cities, I have found TONS of them going for around 150-160 which is how I am getting one rather cheap. For example, when you play your first phrase that is going to be looped, that is your basic loop. Then you add things to it, and at anytime you can revert back to your basic loop. Say you add a few loops and want the little collection of loops you have to now be your basic loop, you can save those as your basic loop and add more. But when you revert back to your basic loop, you go back to the three or four loops you saved earlier, not just the single loop. Definitely not as feature laden as the Jam Man, but definitely usable. Great delay sounds too.
