Members joncyberboy
I know the Double Muff is a totally different type of pedal. So thats not really an opion, but other than that i have no suggestions. Rehousing seems to the way forward i reckon.

I'm not really telling you where to go for a rehouse, but I've heard some pretty bad things about that guy in your link. Issues like taking the money and never getting your pedal back, etc.

Members NetStar
the PCB is less than half the size of the Muff. I can't imagine it being too much of a chore.

Members killyridols
You could try to locate one of these:They're discontinued, but they go pretty cheap on the bay (I got mine for about $30)Acording to the guyatone site, it's based on the first edition (triangle) bigmuff minus a tone control. I love mine, sounds like a bigmuff to me + it takes up very little pedalbaord realestate (about 1/2 the size of a MXR)Only negative - the box barely goes above unity gain, not that this is a problem, as I'm sure most people don't use theri bigmuffs as boosters. Members kishjor
About the double muff, It sounds very muff like but seems to slightly boost the mids as compared to the big muff pi scooping an insane amount. It can get very creamy with both fuzzes on. I personally like the double muff more.
