Thinking of switching/adding an OD

Currently I'm running a Custom Sheraton II into a Boss SD-1 --> Keeley Rat II --> a chunky cheese (soon) --> Vox AC30

I've grown bored with the SD-1 and want a more versatile OD for ($200 or less).

Any suggestions for this setup??

TIA.

spend alittle extra and get the blackstone appliances od/dst.the best dam dirt pedal i've ever played through, you will want nomore.i am saving for one myself.the skreddy screw driver is also a good choice, very dynamic.ocd is cool but not for me"not heavy enough"but a good choice.

what type of music are you into?

I'm into different kinds of "rock" I guess you would say.

My Morning Jacket

Band of horses

Radiohead

White Stripes

Black Keys

KoL

Pavement

Grateful Dead

Hot Tuna

Silversun Pickups

are in my changer right now.

I have a ton of albums and this is a small sample.

i run an od3 into my ac30 and its like god yelling

I seriously LOL's at that one. Never heard it before.

I don't know. Moving from one boss OD to another just kinda feels...meh.

Are the two (SD-1/OD-3) really that different??

I'm mainly looking for versitility.

the od3 is inanely versatile. it can go from a clean boost to a really gritty drive to anything in between. its my favorite pedal besides my space echo.

its not like the sd-1 at all. the sd-1 is a tubescreamer clone, and the od-3 is its own beast. more gain on tap, more natural sounding, less of a mid hump.

try it at least.

Yeah, I know the SD-1 is Boss' take on the TS9. I will definately give the OD-3 a try.

(OMG Spam) Buy a (my) copperhead. It's too bright with my single coil/fender amp setup, but would sound great with humbuckers/vox. It's very low gain, extremely touch sensitive and amplike. Kind of similar EQ wise to an old Fender.

OK between Screwdriver, HotCake, and OCD v.3 or v.4

Somebody convince me to buy their favorite of these pedals.

All of its "neighbors" are in my sig. Nothing is going to leave the board.

I always love a hotcake into an ac30. But, if you are looking for something really different from what you have and versatality and you are into Black Keys, etc. I suggest trying a good Germanium fuzz face type pedal. If you get a good one you can get a ton of different tones by adjusting the volume and tone knobs on the guitar. My favorite is the fulltone '69. other good ones are: analogman sunface, and i've heard good things about (but have not played) the mjm london fuzz and monsterpiece fuzz's. All of these can be had used or new for $200 or under.

The screwdriver I believe is a germanium based od and would probably be an awesome choice but the used prices i've been seeing lately have been over $200.
