How do you use craigslist?

I've been trying to get into craigslist and have been pretty successful. It's more patience than anything. However, i do find that craigslist is like a throw back to the 90's in technology. It's very difficult to find what i want. The search engine sucks. I find myself just going from top to bottom...

Mostly for Anonymous sex and Drugs. Trying to buy or sell something on there is worthless.

i was browsing the relationship section just for kicks yesterday (not that i was serious or need it :D), and noticed something right off the bat. The women were looking for relationships and the men were after crazy threesomes :D:cop: I guess i shouldn't be so surprised. Men are bastards!... back to topic, thanks for that link.

Firefox companion for e-bay. Puts all your Watching items in a nice little taskbar on the left.

The Forcastfox add on is great too. Weather at your fingertips.

I'm mostly Mozilla these days. Great Add-ons, more secure than IE, and it's free.

I haven't had any problems using the Search function at Craigs List. It might take a few hours for the new listings to make it into the search database (I don't know). I usually search on brand names, models ("fuzz") or make ("1x12"). Maybe ignorance is bliss but Search seems to work great for me, and I've made a couple scores (100 watt Earth tube amp for 225 dollars, Crate Power Block for 60 dollars). I'll also scan the current day, for fresh listings.

People delete their ads when the item sells... could that be the reason you're not finding the stuff you looked for?

The only thing I've noticed about Craigs List is that people are flaky, they don't respond to your calls or emails, they don't follow up on their inquiries and so on. There's no accountability.

when i was looking for my amp, i searched google using "fender prosonic" craigslist... then just emailed a bunch of them asking if they'd be willing to ship.

worked out for me, and i skipped all the ebay hassle.

what has driven me crazy about craigslist is that my ads don't seem to appear! i do the email verification and everything and it says it's been posted... but when i search for it, my ad doesn't come up. it's maddening.
