Members Crxsh
So.... my Scottish Terrier turns 1 year old tomorrow. Anyone celebrate Pet Birthdays? The wife and I joked about throwing a party for him and inviting over some of the neighboring dogs .... but I think we're actually going to bake him a cake. My wife found some kind of 'dog-friendly' recipe online made of oatmeal and peanut butter. Just want to make sure we're not complete freaks. Seriously.... his looks are all that saves him sometimes. Terriers are incredibly stubborn .... and often too smart for their own good.
Members theinTIMidator
What a cute dog. One time I celebrated one of my dogs birthdays, but now I don't remember their birthdays until a month later. I have 4 dogs.

It looks kinda similar. scotties, schnauzers, and terriers of all kinds are the supreme rulers of the dogiverse:I was really busy with school during Sparky's birthday this year, so he didn't get much of anything... Not that he wanted any more than an old sock or maybe a few pieces of ice...or some small, live rodent to chase around These dogs are indeed too smart for their own good. But thats why I love em, so much personality.

Members Axe_34
We had a Cocker Spaniel for 13 years and she was a huge part of our family. But birthday party? I dunno. Sounds slightly, how would you say? Freakish.
Members gorebuc
I've always wanted to get Tucker a small rodent!he would appreciate it greatly, I'm sure. My brother tried to introduce Sparky to his rabbit once, forgetting that miniature schnauzers were bread to chase small things....the poor rabbit barely made it

Members gorebuc
She's got a nice skirt. Looks like standard cut for the Scottie is similar to that of the schnauzer. I have them cut Sparky even all over...damn skirt gets all tangled up in less than two weeks.

Members TechBrother
I would say that since the dog doesn't give a {censored} that it's his birthday you shouldn't either. Unless for some reason you bought him a new pedal for his birthday and he's going to need you to try it out for him. That could be a good way to justify a new gear purchase to the Mrs. I love dogs but ppl take the relationship a little too far.
Members DanJep
My wife is the biggest dog lover on the face of the planet (totally not joking, she care more about the dog being sick than me). We don't have birthday parties for our dog. It's mostly for you, the Dog could care less.

You're totally right ... but at the same time, it's kinda fun. I mean, he's a part of our little family and thus, we feel the need to spoil him a bit on his special day. No parties ... but a good meal isn't too far I don't think. I like this idea about pedal buying though ....... I'll have to look into that. Members Crxsh
i like dogs you cant pick up. :cop: big strong doggies...like a husky or a german shepard ive grown up around pure breed german shepards, best dogs around! Our next dog will be something bigger no doubt .... but this was a decent compromise. She wanted a Yorkie..... I wanted a Bulldog. So we stayed terrier and got something a bit bigger. I grew up with a Cocker Spaniel and she'd never had a dog so we chose a Scottie based on availability, cost and size. We have a VERY small apartment and the Scottie was described to us as "the perfect apartment dog." Jury's still out on that claim .... but he's growing out of his puppy stage I think. So that's nice. Tucker is a big dog in a small body ... and he has unmatched energy. He's pretty lovable though and unlike a lot of Scotties, he's VERY friendly.
