Members fuzzface71
This question is for my roommate. I finally convinced him to use iTunes after 2 years! I pretty much have some knowledge about iTunes with my Mac, but with PC's obviously it's a hassle. He's getting frustrated that he swears iTunes suck and thinks he'll just delete it and use some PC software. Anyways, here's his problem. Every time that he loads a burned cd of MP3's that he burned from his old PC, iTunes would not recognize it. Though some MP3 cds that I've burned from my Mac would work. If he puts in regular cds it would also show on his iTunes and he can upload those tracks too, but all the ones that he did (MP3 cds) a few years ago, won't even show on the library. I would like to add that he's also running other softwares like WinAmp to play music, and those tracks and the cd would even show on WinAmp's library! I really can't help him since I really don't know my way much with PCs. I hoped that you guys can help me, because it's really bothering me too that I can't figure it out myself! Is it because he's running multiple softwares? Does he need to do something on iTunes' preference to indicate cd importing (which I kinda showed him)? Is this a PC vs. Mac thing on iTunes? Btw, the same MP3 cds that won't show on his PC's iTunes, would show on my Mac's iTunes.
Members SUPER VELCROBOY
hm, not sure what the problem is. I run itunes on both my pc at home and on my macbook laptop. They both work just fine. I think the problem is with the way the mp3 was burned. The way you work around the problem is quite simple. In preference, go to the advanced tab and select the "copy files to itunes folder." Then just open the cd on your PC and drag the mp3s directly to the itunes windows. Itunes will copy the mp3s to it's music folder. Then you are done. This is how i do it with all my music.
Members archofmusic
To get the files into the library is easy. Just put the files with all your other iTunes music files usually in the "My Music" folder, then goto File/Add Folder to Library, select the folder, and iTunes will import the MP3's into the library. iTunes won't "find information" for already imported mp3's. It sucks, you have to manually enter that info in.
Members BryanMichael
Yes- iTunes is kind of a pain in the ass, when it works it works well- but it still does some bizarre crap sometimes.
Members bleepedybloops
Copy the mp3s to a folder on the PC and then File > Add Folder to Library
