Don't know if y'all would be interested in checking this out, but I'm discovering it ain't really bRo0tLZorz enough for my homies in the amp forum ... So, I thought I'd bring it over here for commentary/feedback. It's a rough mix, and there are no backing vocals yet (though there will be soon).

The solo is my Hamer Mirage Koa into a Red Witch Moon Phaser (set for tremolo & phase), then into an MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe (set as a boost--volume maxed, pedal gain c. 8 o'clock-ish) and into the od channel of my Trace Elliot Speed Twin, with an EH Deluxe Memory Man in the loop.

The electric rhythm guitars have an MXR flanger panned to one side, and a Fulltone Choralflange (set for chorus) to the other.

Lemme know waatchoo tink! :)

non-bruutlez tuneage

Thanks!

Chris

Thanks, bradberry00! That Red Witch is pretty much my favorite pedal at the moment!
:D

How does the Red Witch do at slower phaser stuff with lots of gain compared to say a phase 90. I'd like all of the other extra options that the RW has, but I also love the basic phase 90 sound... Definately not enough room on the board for both. Also, can it do a decent Univibe sim? Thanks!

Imo, the Red Witch can be more subtle than the Phase 90 (I have one of the more recent "block label" Phase 90s, fwiw). Not quite as "edgy." The RW has 6 different settings: 3 different phase settings, 2 tremolo+phase settings, and 1 just tremolo setting. So you can definitely set it up for that basic phase sound (and still have 3 voicings to choose from).

All that said, the RW might be a tad ... mellower ... overall, than the P90. My Phase 90 reissue tends to boost the signal a bit, which works well with high gain settings on my amp. The RW seems to have a more "vintage" overall flavor. Still, I have both and, having the RW, I don't use the Phase 90 ... and I use gain levels from blues to classic rock to hard rock to 80s/early 90s metal (no nu-metal, uber gain levels for me, though).

To answer your last question, the RW can throb & warble so well I've actually wondered whether I should keep my Mojovibe (which I love) on my board! :o

Hope that helps!
Chris
