Members Entropy21
Hello all. I am new to the forum and am excited to talk music with you. Ok, this has been bothering me so bad. I went to see Built to Spill a few months ago and I saw the Meat Puppets also. The Lead guitarist had a delay pedal, but it looked like a wah pedal. It had a little knob on the side also that he would {censored} with. When he would move the wah thing up and down it would change the delay time, and it would even keep the sustain. Tonight I saw Dead Meadow and the lead guitarist had the same kind of thing. it was red with a chrome wah-thing and it was the most amazing delay ever. It sounded so psychedelic. I have been looking for what this is forever. Anyone out there know what it is and where and how to get one!?!?
Members NITEFLY182
Thats a rotovibe. Its not a delay, its a chorus/vibe with variable speed.
Members Entropy21
Wow, I love this place already. That was SO quick to reply! thank you! Can you give me a link or some more spec on what this thing can do or how it works? Whats the knobs on the sides? Is there only one company that makes it? HOw do you get the loop like sustain? If it is a rotovibe, that's a Jim Dunlop thing. http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/pip&id=
Members Entropy21
You all are awesome. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I have never used a wah-like pedal. Is it difficult to get used to? Is it difficult to get used to a wah? Thanks for the specs you all. And If you havent gotten into Dead Meadow, you need to. Members RoboPimp
yeah, the rotovibe is nothing like a delay pedal, and probably won't do much to give you any more sustain so I think you're looking at the wrong pedal.
Members Entropy21
No Its definitely the pedal Im looking for, but I remember the Dead Meadow guitarist being able to play something, then he {censored}ed with it and left the stage and it was playing this drone type sound, sounded like a sitar almost... maybe he just looped something and then messed with the rotovibe...Idk

Members TomCTC
So...its a rotary speaker pedal? Sort of. It's not terribly accurate like a Rotosim or a Rotomachine, but it does the Univibe sort of thing pretty well.
