Members orangesix
I think Squier should make the following. an affordable version of the Jazzmaster, maybe call it the Jazzmaster II or something. in the 279.99-449.00 range would be cool. also, re-release the Super-Sonic. I've been wanting this since they came out. I remember being around 15 in the music store and the guy told my mom it was a cheapie guitar and convinced her to buy me a Les Paul instead that i never ended up liking. these are WAY too expensive now. Musicmaster, Cyclone or Duo-Sonic- single pup, small body, short scale type guitar. these are all cool little guitars but slightly overpriced cause they're not made anymore Squier II Strat- ive got one of these late 80's, early nineties MIK strats, and the neck is amazing IMO. what happened Squier? did Squier just decide to give up in the mid-90's? Members orangesix
that would be a jagmaster. i own one. but that guitars been around since the 90's vista series. the new one is the squier II and its not the same.
Members Folky_Grunge
I agree. A Jagmaster with Jazzmaster pickups instead of humbuckers would be awesome. I'd even settle for P-90s. A Squier version of the Mustang would also be cool (or a Fender standard series of the Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and Mustang).
Members homestar_kevin
the jagmaster is really only like the jazzmaster in it's shape. I would love an actually squier jazzmaster or jaguar, with the authentic pick up configuration, trem and switching systems but I highly doubt it will ever happen
Members orangesix
it within their means and interest i would think. it would be basically a jagmaster with different trem/pickups. and i think 349.99 would be reasonable.
Members echodeluxe
there are a ton of things that fender should do. you are right, a squier jazzmaster would be great, but it wont happen. sadface. im gonna jazzmasterize my a jagmaster. someone in here did that and it turned out great. still has the start tremolo but oh well. i'll get a real jazzmaster someday. Members NITEFLY182
The hardware is expensive relative to their standard squier trem which is probably why it hasn't happened yet. Those guitars are typically owned by the 'a Jazzmaster is the only guitar Ill ever play' people who want a real one or some CIJ one for the mojo or something so they would sell to them. Its generally too specialized to warrant a true version in the squier series.

Mainly because of Rondo music is Kurt/SX can put out those SJM's with the jaguar/jazzmaster trem in them for 130 bucks then I see no reason why squier can't do it for 350-400. I know the jazzmaster pick ups are specialized and everything, but I mean I still see absolutely not reason why it can't or won't be done. Another point I might add while using the SJM/rondo example is that it was featured and adored recently in Guitar Player magazine for being not only a great guitar for the money, but a great guitar in general. Mainly because the quality of the instrument all around, but also (IMO) because even though it has a huge extra horn coming out the backside of it, it's truer to the Jazzmaster/jaguar than the Jagmaster is
Members cobalt-60
I like the humbuckers, because then I can toss GFSs in there. I'd just add the Jazzmaster trem, but redesign it a bit, both for reliability and to not scare off people. If they were to add more control, I'd go with the scroll pots they put in place of the switches on Jaguars. Also, I'd put on the old Jazzmaster knobs in an off white... Members Keith SIO
I just want mexican fender affordable ones. I don't think they'd be cheap enough for squier. I also don't expect $400 squier guitars. In regards to old squier...1980's MIK strat is my main guitar. It is a great guitar. Wouldn't have it if it weren't for homestar_kevin persuading my to buy it at the shop about 2 years ago.
