Hi guys, I'm trying to track down an HC forum member by the name of SimulSam. He has a stolen GREEDTONE pedal of mine that I'm offering a reward to get back, so if you've had any dealings with him or know a name, phone number, address, etc, please PM me. Thank you!

Here's his listing in the effects section where he's trying to sell the GREEDTONE:

If you have any emails from him, you may be able to view the email headers (GMail lets you do this, for example) and get his IP. From there you can narrow down his location and may be able to get additional information depending on who owns the IP.

The story is posted at another forum.

Crypto shipped the pedal. The guy waited four months then filed a dispute with Paypal saying he never got the pedal.
Then the pedal pops up for sale on Craigslist in the same area the buyer was from.
Not a BOSS for crying out loud, but a Greedtone, of which only a few were built.
Too many coincedences for me.
AFAIK, crypto didn't post here until that guy changed his ad and took his pic down.

I didn't think you could file a dispute with paypal 4 months later? I'd like to know what happened with that dispute, sounds a little odd to me.

He waited for 4 months? Frig that, after 4 weeks I'd be filing the dispute and calling them out on whatever forum all this happened on.

no, the seller (cryptozoo) shipped it, and the buyer never said anything for 4 months... but then had it for sale several places the same week he filed a paypal dispute saying he never got it.

Read until your hearts content.

BTW, the buyer could have bypassed Paypal's "dispute dept." by contacting his CC company directly (if he used it for the purchase). You have six months to file a dispute with your CC company.

That, however, is against Paypal's TOA, and will get you the boot, supposedly.

Well if you can tie the IP to the address the goods were shipped to it's an open and shut case of fraud.

Pass all the info to the police and see if Phil will give you the guys IP address for the authorities.

Phil can not, and will not give out IP addresses to forum members, but if I get a lawful / legal request from the authorities, we can release the information to them.

Good luck with your dispute - sorry to hear about that. :(
