Members IRG
Pertty happy with my dirt at the moment (though I can myself adding an Earthquaker Devices Hoof fuzz at some point). But my modulation pedals are lagging a bit. Don't really use them much. Here is what I have, all in the effects loop: MXR 10 band (did not sound good out front) > EHX Nano Stone (also did not sound good out front) > Small Clone > BBE Soul Vibe (new but not sure I like it or need it) > Digitech Digivibe (it's there, doesn't get used) > SMMH to amp. What I would like is a new chorus, add a tremolo (probably the EHX Stereo Pulsar), and add/change delay to an analog, or similarly voiced digitial delay. For chorus: Carl Martin Classic Chorus ($125) or maybe the DLS Choru/Vibe ($189 new, which is more than I really want to spend, so maybe used). Other, is the Visual Sound H20 Chorus or the chorus/echo combo. Phaser: Maybe keep the Nano Stone, or perhaps get something a step up like the Subdecay Quasar. Delay: Sell the SMMH? And get either a Carbon Copy or Disaster Transport or Echobox. Or keep what I have? So after the changes it would look like this: MXR EQ > Quasar> Classic Chorus>Carbon Copy>EHX Stereo pulsar to both amps. What else would you recommend? Members IRG
Modulation.Me wanting:Polychorus.DOD 440.Always wanted to try a Chaos Pad. What is the Chaos Pad? I thought about the Polychorus, but I think I want a more lush sounding chorus, which is supposed to be the Classic Chorus. The Polychorus gives you more spacey, trippy effects, no? Members Jules-RM
I'd go with Disaster Transport over Carbon Copy. For the little extra cash you get so much more. For chorus, I honestly really like the Ibanez CS9 I'm using ($100 retail). It's simple and sounds pretty good, and doesn't have the hiss issues that usually plagues EHX pedals. I would probably go with the Echobox, but we'll see. The CS9 was one I had considered some time ago, it does sound nice. I don't have a hiss with my SC, but I do have clipping issues whenever I play with humbuckers or use chorus and someoverdrive. I really don't like that. The H20 v2 is another one I'm considering too. Members huskerjohn
For Trem, I have the fulltone sup trem. It is a very good basic trem. The chorus in the H20 is very good and lush, but if you don't need the delay, then the pedal will take up too much space. The Deja Vibe is a great pedal that includes a vibrato as well as the phase. Also check out the lovepdal vibe. Very cool pedal.
Members Alchemist
I'd keep the SMMH, I recently tried to replace because it has too many sound options.... but as I looked at the other options, I realised I would probably miss the options, so I'm just gonna hold out for a bit and just add another delay... probably a disaster transport, or maybe an echobox..... Members krish
I had a similar predicament with my pedals, I was very happy with my dirt but my modulations wasn't cutting it. I thought I'd splurge out on a big boutique pedal just to see if it'd make a difference. So I went for a Red Witch Empress Chorus to replace my marshall supervibe. I have to say I will never need another chorus again. Its not like it sounds jaw droppingly amazing, but it just does what its supposed to do, and just sounds "right" whenever I kick it in. It's vibrato mode is excellent too but I'm not much of a vibrato guy. My Digitech Turbo Flanger, a totally non-boutique pedal, sounds great to my ears, and always sounds very lush in a band mix. I don't know how they did it but theres some excellent tones to be had with that one. I especially like the slow "rise" setting. I really have no desire to replace this...ever. I'm happy with my small stone for now, it does what I need it to do. The lead guitarist in my band has a Phase 90 which suits his playing style a bit better than the small stone; my playing is very chord based. In terms of delay, I'm no expert on analogue delays. I have a Boss DD-3 that serves my needs perfectly but I will be replacing eventually as the switch is quite temperamental. I'll probably get the DD-7 when it comes out. By the looks of it, that could be a fantastic delay for you.

Yeah, I keep thinking about replacing the SMMH, but realize it is versatile on a number of fronts. So maybe adding something like a Carbon Copy is what I might do. So the Classic Chorus is more likely what I might get, plus it has the vibrato option, although subtle according to the recent GP magazine review. Members Instrospection
What I would like is a new chorus, add a tremolo (probably the EHX Stereo Pulsar), and add/change delay to an analog, or similarly voiced digitial delay. The Stereo Micro Pulsar is the best trem i've played through. It's picky as hell, but has tons of options. The tube tremolo in my old amps can't even compete with it (either they're too square wave sounding or TOO triangle/ mellow sounding), I don't even bother with anything that isn't the Pulsar. No volume drop, either. For chorus: Carl Martin Classic Chorus ($125) or maybe the DLS Choru/Vibe ($189 new, which is more than I really want to spend, so maybe used). Other, is the Visual Sound H20 Chorus or the chorus/echo combo. Underrated in this category--Digitech Chorus Factory. I know it's Digitech, but they really got it right here. It's capable of warbly flanges/ chorus flanges as well as choruses--loose or tight sounding, and it's got an effect level AND a tone/ treble control to get it as bright or mellow sounding as you need. Tons of different chorus sounds, too. The effect level/ tone control makes this nearly indispensable, alone...especially for the price. Phaser: Maybe keep the Nano Stone, or perhaps get something a step up like the Subdecay Quasar. MXR Phase 100. Very lush, deep, not new sounding (ie: Boss PH-3) at all. Delay: Sell the SMMH? And get either a Carbon Copy or Disaster Transport or Echobox. Or keep what I have? Boss DD-6....lots of options, great sound with hold, warp, backwards delay. Members IRG
I think you should go with the ChorusVib Well I almost did, but I ordered the Classic CHorus today, and the Stereo Pulsar. I think they'll be good choices I also bought a Teese Picture wah from a forumite here, can't wait to get that either.
