Members avapxia
Hey, for the last few weeks I've been looking for a fuzz box that I can set and use primarily for chords. I'm familiar with the muff variants and some of the modified circuits like the Skreddy line, but I know there has to be other options. So, are there any unique approaches to this type of fuzz (overdrivish)? What about just a damn good muff style pedal? Or what about pedals that you wouldn't think go well with chords, but really soar with the right settings?

Members zygoat
I just turned my guitar's volume knob down when doing chords with my Muff. Seemed to work pretty good.

Members Agreed
Aramat Mojo Fuzz sounds lovely with chords up to and including Fuzz on max and Mojo at just above Noon. Anything above that and it gets incredibly sputtery and terrible (terribly awesome actually, fuzz is the beast with a thousand tongues and it is speaking the language of angels and demons). Members t_e_l_e
what sounds are you after?e.g. if you mean chords like on smashing pumpkins siamese dream sound, you can't go wrong basically with a muff or similar a tonebender gives you a different voicing and do things a muff can't, and can't things what a muff do.for me i have no love for a fuzz face but it is also different to the others and has its options. so tell us what you trying to achieve, so we can narrow it down

A good fuzz always cleans up and becomes an overdrive... especially if it's a FuzzFace variant.

I think that's pretty much what you're meant to do with fuzz boxes when you want to play chords.
Members Teahead
Fuzz Face will do it, especially with some guitar volume rolled off, or choose a version with input trim so you can get the same results with the pedal itself. Hartman Germanium comes to mind, it can be ordered with an external trim, Analogman Sun Face too, but the trim is internal on that one.

The best fuzz with chords (for me) is the Fulltone Soul-Bender.
