Members goth70
Would anyone like to discuss overdrive pedals that give grind but don't destroy the chime twang and jangle of your tone. Drive that won't break a glassy tone (and no TS-9 nasal honk). I've been listening to clips of the following pedals The Rocktron Austin Gold. The Toadworks Li'l Leo and Leo jr. Keeley Moded Boss Blues Driver and particularly the Austin and Nashville models of a company called Eden. here is their site with clips. www.edenanalog.com

Members goth70
I read about the Vox valvetone. It does sound nice. Unfortunatly Vox discontinued it. I want to get something currently in production so I can send it back if its not working out. I've got some decent boxes, I just wonder sometimes if I could improve on my sound (as we all do). Members Exdeath
The Liquid Sunshine is great at retaining top end, but it's not so much grind as light crunch.
Members C-Dawg
Never played one but what about the Silver Kiss? I've heard it has a nice sparkle to it.
Members goth70
The Silver Kiss. Sounds pretty cool bro. I just googled it. I had never heard of the pedal or the company before. Thanks. I looked at the liquid sunshine, I'm just afraid it will be too much like my Barber LTD, which I don't think much of. Trying to find decent soundclips of it. Members Destructobot
Skreddy Screwdriver. Just played mine for the first time tonight and it does what you're talking about perfectly. It can do all sorts of other stuff too, including bassy dark fuzzy overdrive. Really flexible.

Members fuzzface71
The DOD od250 shoudl fit the billHere's my new discoveryhttp://solidgoldfx.com/E-mail from solidgold;"The origins of the Superdrive come from one of the first pedals i used to build which was the Super 250. Super 250 was a modern clone of my 1979 grey DOD 250. However the Superdrive has been tweaked, tuned and modded so many times that it turned into a completely different beast. Its got more drive with an added gain stage, less compression, less noise and tighter tone. The presence knob is a great touch as well......." Members goth70
thanks for responding. I was unaware of several of the pedals mentioned. I'll do some research on all of them.

Members smrz
Lots of rad suggestions here. The 250 and Austin Gold in particular are really cool. If you're looking for a lighter drive, the Tonefactor Copperhead is really, really cool too...the only reason I'm getting rid of mine is because it has too much high end for my already bright setup. It sounds like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfDGnm05KNg&feature=related
Members goth70
I was hoping there would be some love for the Austin gold since it is the cheapest option (ha) Could you tell me more about it? The way people talk about it in reviews makes me wonder with all the contradictions from one to the next.Does the Austin Gold sound like the Nashville or Austin boxes here?www.edenanalogeffects.comI'm really checking out the Screddy and Silver kiss but I'll look at the love boxes too.Noooo Waaaay Jose on the Tim/Timmy overdrive. A 300 dollar pedal with a year waiting list. I don't hate my current rig that much! Lots of good reviews though on the Tim, every one glowing. The AG is really bright, but otherwise a pretty good sounding box. The gain has a sort of fuzzy character. It's probably a bit brighter than those effects you mention, though it's hard to tell too much based on clips. The Tim is $150, and the Timmy $105, if you're on the list. A far cry from $300.
