That's some cool stuff ... I take it you got to spend your tax return on gear?

Nope. The top three were involved in a trade for my strat. (My tax return is either going into savings for a house or being sent to pay off college loans.)

The Blue Boy might be a trade + cash .... or I might just buy it outright. Not sure yet. I wanna try it out / compare it to my Blues Pro Overdrive first.

I've heard the complaints about the DMM. That, and a lack of Tap Tempo kept me away from one. Sure, they sound brilliant or whatever ... but still, what good is that if the delay isn't long enough?

I've wanted one for awhile now, but one never came my way when I could afford it or whatever. I'm sure it'll be a nice addition.

That was SOOOOO last month. :poke: :cop:

By "I've wanted one for awhile now..." I meant, "I've been wanting one for 2 weeks."

I'm not sure how long this will stick... but I figure -- there's no going wrong with a DMM right now.

I'll say this much though -- the delay time knob will probably be maxxed all the time.

I'm guessing that's the case. DYK how old is it? He billed it as being vintage-y. True?

The green Sovtek pedals were a '90s thing, and AFAIK they predated the US reissues, but don't quote me on that. I actually bought it "new" at this little shop just outside of Boston when my band was on tour last year, so it's pretty fresh for its age.

I thought the same thing. I think you will find yourself using it for some great slapback and run your echotap at the same time for the longer delays. In fact I don't turn off the DMM even if my delay is almost minimal. It makes my tone sound that much better.

You will find yourself experimenting with shorter delays more than before.

Yeah.... I'm thinking this might end up being the case.

I mean, back when I wrote that ... I was looking at selling both of my current delays and replacing them both with 1 unit. And at that point, a DMM just didn't make sense because of no Tap Tempo and stuff... I think coupling this with a good delay that has tap tempo will be nice.

Time will tell.

Hey Nick - be sure to let us know how the Blues Boy Deluxe compares to the Blues Pro as I'm thinking of selling my Blues Pro and getting the BBD. I'm guessing you'll love the BBD and I'm sure that it can do any sound the Blues Pro can plus more.

People should realize that a new gear day for crashdummy doesn't mean much. He'll be selling or trading by the next week.

Could be. :idk:

Depends on how it strikes me initially. I'm a big 'first impression' player. If an instrument/pedal/amp doesn't grab me right off... it's gone.

Conversely, items that really impress me stick around for quite awhile.
