Members slight-return
hey guys, got an app thats slightly different than usual We were talking a week or so ago abt ringmods and it reminded me of a fun app (often done with 2 lines in a classic subtactice syth architecture) where you arent feeding the ringmod a static carrier osc , but rather are feeding the ringmod with a carrier that is another musical input. Well, I thought I might go back and revisit that by feeding something like a blacet klang werk (it has some neat features) with an instrument in and a pitch-shifted instrument in (sort of the like old GX_700 smart ring mod) To make it asy here's kind of a req spec-pref compact pedal/effect (looking to put this on a small system for easy load-in/out)-has DRYout/Wet out (this could serve double duty as a splitter another thing that's fun is to get octave effects by feeding a ringmod the same signal at both inputs)-has "dumb" pitch shifting (as opposed to harmonizing)-'tracks well in the bass register It appears that the PS-3 has really really taken off in price I pretty much dropped pitch-shifting (as a harmonizing type effect) years ago as it didnt really suit me and, admitedly, the tech seemed like it still needed work - so I'm not all that familiar wiht what's out there right nowany thoughts would be appreciated

Members kpd78
the Boss PS-5 tracks really well and has dry and wet outputs. it has lots of features that you're not asking for, but may find useful at some point.
Members greenweenie
The Boss PS series is nice but you could try this: http://www.digitech.com/products/HarmonyMan/index.php
Members slight-return
thanks! sadly, it appears to be scalar in nature (the detune only goes to 30 cents) loooks to be more for harmonizing than merely pitch shifting

Members slight-return
Thanks! I'm trying to keep the form facttor really really compact [for a 2 load run - gamba/double bass and amplification/electronics...the rack space in the superreadhead is taken up by a grandprix preamp] Any idea if the dedicated units in the nova series have the pitch shift algs? One note - as it will be feeding a ringmod (blacet klang werk) which, itself has a wave processor, preserving the timbre of the pitch-shifted signal would be nice, but not of particular importance Overall, I do like some of the TC gear, used to use a D-2 and Triple C and liked the UI. No, sorry... I got to mess with them at NAMM for a short time, and I am not too up on the actual specs, though I'm sure they're on the TC site. THE TC Helicon VoiceLive has dedicated pitch algorithms though. It's made for voice, but maybe that'll work for you. IMO, the only stuff that does Pitch really well are Eventide, Fractal Audio Axe-FX, and the older Digitech models (Rack units)

(I'm trying to get a sense of enclosure dims) thanks for the suggestions! Oh another q: any idea if any of the other TC systems have the carrier assignable ringmod a'la the fireworx?
