Members nikeshp
i have time and by right tools, im not really sure what i would need, or how to do it at all, but seems like it would be fun, any more information. if not that though, is the bad monkey basically a cheaper maxon? Members tidalwaveGB
if not that though, is the bad monkey basically a cheaper maxon? Well, the BM definitely has that "tube screamer" feel, but I think it has its own character. The main differences to me, are the additional tone controls (bass and treble on the BM, vs the 808's single tone control), and more overall gain. On the other hand, the BM is made cheaply (I know from past experience), and probably won't last as long as the 808......but you are on a budget, so I am sure you will dig the BM. It works wonders for boosting an already distorted amp, and sounds pretty damn good for the $$.

Just connect the pedal enclosure to ground; that should shut the radio off or add a resistor between input and input capacitor, if you dare to solder on the PCB
