Members chu2 Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 Who here has one already? I'm seriously considering shelling out my hard earned cash for one. Any reviews? Also, is the tap tempo output for a normally closed or open switch? Thanks in advance!

As soon as I have a chance to, I'll swing down there. Thought in the meantime, though, I'd see if anyone has one yet... I mean, it looks amazing on paper...and in the demos. But is it worth the $180 or so?
Members sbrett Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 I got mine in yesterday. I like it! I've been using rack units forever for modulation and delay, so it takes a bit getting used to for me but it sounds great. The modulation mode gets a little 'overly warbly' for my taste, but with the e. level halfway up it is pretty lush without being overbearing. Analog mode sounds great to me, maybe not DMM quality but certainly usable. I just ordered a Boss footswitch to take care of tap tempo. Haven't tried the expression control yet, don't know if I'll use that feature. I'll try to get some clips up maybe Thursday.

Members hilikus8 Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 $159 there. woah, that's a very nice price, doesn't the dd-6 cost a few bucks more? seems like a no-brainer for anyone looking for a compact and solid first delay.

Pretty good price point. If my RV3 craps out on me, I might consider it. The DD6 is discontinued, btw.
Members Captain Commie Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 Some ones got to tell me if the expression pedal control is worth while. I'm torn between getting a DD-7 or a DD-20. Mostly because I don't use Sound on sound much. Unless some one knows of a way to make a DD-20 have an exspression jack to control delay time I think i'll be getting a DD-7.
Members sa1126 Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 I have one. The analog sound is nice. The modulated delay is okay. Same old tap tempo. Apparently you can control the delay time via footswitch...I need to figure that out.
Members TomCTC Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 Really want one. The looper + DM-2 model have already sealed the deal for me.
Members Faldoe Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 I've got one and I really like it. I use the looper all the time, analog is great and I really like the general delay sound. I built a tap tempo which makes the pedal extra saucy.
Members machine gunner Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 I have one- I think the delays sound better than the DD20 that I had. Love the analog and modulated delays and it'll oscillate like crazy. The looper is also easier to use than the DD20 w/ twice the loop time. Definitely a winner for Boss
Members Faldoe Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 It would be awesome if the DD-7 could be modded to start/stop loops, that would make it awesome.
Members willburford Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 I really want one. It seems so cool. not to mention useful. It would be awesome if the DD-7 could be modded to start/stop loops, that would make it awesome. That would make it the best pedal of all time, methinks.
Members Faldoe Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 yes I hope someone will get right on it.....

Members mirrorball Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 Got one on order from Sweetwater. Should ship this week. Really looking forward to trying out the DM-2 model.
Members Wilbo26 Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 Can anyone compare this to the DD-5? It basically takes everything that was good about the DD-5, and everything that was good about the DD-6, combines them, sheds some of the more useless crap and adds the two glaring omissions: 1. Analog delay model2. usable looping time for hold/looper mode There is really no reason to get a DD-5 or a DD-6 now that the DD-7 is out.

Members willburford Posted May 15, 2008 Members Posted May 15, 2008 There is really no reason to get a DD-5 or a DD-6 now that the DD-7 is out. DD-6 has glitchy-hold-power and warp mode. Just sayin'. I enjoy both of those features.

I was just thinking that the value of a DD-5 is going to fall hard core.
