Tell me about the Redwitch Fuzz God

Recommended Posts

My friend has decided to pass on the fuzz factory, and he's pretty set on buying a red witch fuzz god. Does anyone own one? The clips sounded good, but who knows what circumstances they were recorded under.

Please give opinions if you have tried one,

thanks!

I have a fuzz god II that I really like. I've had a fuzz factory in the past and I think the FG is an improvement. I like the fact that it doesn't just start squealing out of control as you're turning the knobs, but you can footswitch it in at anytime. It's cool to tune the "wrath" feedback to a pitch (whatever key you're in) and then kick it on for leads and actually get some musical tones... Also, I thought the Fuzz Factory was a bit thin and trebley while the FG has a more full sound.

I too, found the Fuzz Factory to be thin sounding. They both seem insanely expensive to me though.

I have one and it's fairly versatile, but then again I haven't tried that many fuzzes. All the fuzz pedals I've heard I never liked but this one has character to it. It gets wooly, thin, crackly, insane oscillations, etc. The sputter knob really gives you a range. +1 on being able to control the feedback with the foot switch..even with your volume knob on the guitar. It's pricey however I'm not seeking another fuzz pedal at all.

Yeah, my buddy has already turned up his nose to the Fuzz Factory, I was with him when he tried 3 at Rudy's in NYC, and they weren't that impressive.

The Fuzz Factory is pretty wild! When you say, "they weren't that impressive" I have to conclude wild isn't for everyone! :)

Well, I already knew wild was not for me; my friend stated that he wanted a fuzz pedal that would make his amp sound like it was breaking. I suppose the fuzz factory did that, but the guy wouldn't even let my friend really screw around with it. He (the rudy's guy) just held the thing and screwed around with the knobs, but I don't think he knew what he was doing, or he was looking for one particularly weird sound, but I didn't hear too much that was useful or cool, just a lot of squeaks and squawks.

That surprizes me! Your friend should have had the Fuzz Factory Settings List in his pocket to call out settings he wanted to hear. Then left it there to help the salesman.

The Fuzz Factory certainally gets the broken amp sound with a 4-3:30-7-12 setting. The first setting to show anybody interested in a Fuzz Factory is the Clean Up Fuzz-7-7-3-5.
