Members slight-return
I'm actually using an Ergo Gamba and am really enjoying it (ugh, and am commencing double bass studies) I was considering using an SWR interstellar overdrive -- basically use the xpression pedal to modulate the...well "drive"* (I men that aesthetically as well as technically) I have used some distoriton when playing arco (like a PSA1 on a 'cello) so its not completely alien to me but I guess I'm looking for not so much a straight out and out Distoriton (cap D), but more that overdrie sweetspot and be able to modulate, fluidly in and out of that(kind of like how one might use a "solo boost" but with the flavors in between covered as well) thoughts? (and thanks for taking the time to read it) *one nice feature I noticed was you can invert the phase against the dry mix...now I have found many distortion units can kind of rob the dynmics and naunce out of the bowing...but that tricks like that can reinject some sensitivity as you play one signal against another

Members slight-return
I guess I could build one and modify it for expression control One worry there is that just a straight treble boost can kind of make bowing "glassy" (whereas clipping changes the timbre in concert with the addition of high end) and that the change wouldnt be particularly dynamically sensitive (that can be the nice thing about lighter clipping/saturation, esp with things like phase tricks - you can get the timbre to change depending on how hard you hit it)
