How many of you think that it's a good board? I see slits, so I can waire things from under... And I just got some pedal links from the bike shop. Looks sturdy enough, and should last a while. Nice size, too. If it's too short, I can get two, and clamp 'em together, right? -Shelving unit: 3.00 + transportation -Chain links: Free -Wiring: Already bought and paid for -Screws: 3.00 (Already bought) Total cost: 6.00 As a low cost pedalboard that should hold its own, is this a good idea? . . . . And yes, NetStar, I'm using the English version of your earlier link. Don't sue me!
Members solly
I bought the larger one of these ($7), painted it black and added sone handles and velcro. Its not the sturdiest of units but for my home playing its great. Im going to add a brace down the center of it but i doubt the smaller shelves would need it. Members Welladjusted
The Canadian site doesn't ship the Gorm, but I live near an Ikea. After I get my RC-2 and patch cables, I'm heading to Ikea.
Members NetStar
Did you link you to Sweden or somwhere? Sorry... it is true, if i need more board space, I might have to sell my Rock Case and get two of these...

Members Kikaruu
Oh, and there's an Ikea in my city, so shipping won't be a problem... Gas will, though. (~3.50 a gallon... WHY???) I'm thinking about persuading my mother to drive me today. I'll just have to reimburse her for transportation. Still, she'll probably say no. And I'll be set back three to eight dollars. Plus gas. Man.... Any other advice for a pedalboard like this? Would it be a good idea to route the wires under the board and through the slits, or just on top? Members melx
??? The link you used earlier was for the UK, I think, but I just memorised "GORM", went to the US page, and voila! hahaha, I just did the same in reverse!! I think I might buy the big one, and chop it up a bit.
Members Jeremy Skrenes
If you're not going to route wires under the board, it's not worth it. But $3 for a decent DIY board is a great place to start.
Members eyeball987
I am going to try it I think. I will be passing IKEA this weekend. Thanks for the idea.

Members Kikaruu
I did it. I'll post pics later. IMO, the board looks awesome. I bought a large version of the shelf just in case, but I won't use it until I have five or more pedals. I did end up routing wires under the board, though. I think it looks cleaner that way. The wah and Uber Metal are attatched with bike chain links (they don't move one bit ) and the Small Clone and Bad Monkey are attatched with a strange use of Zip ties.Oh, yes, this is nice. It's sturdy, doesn't bend under my feet, and is slightly elevated (hence, I could route wires). It's aesthetically pleasing, as I like the look of bare wood, and not too busy. I could easily see that transporting this would be a breeze. I just need a cover or something, though... ~_^Side note: While I was at Ikea, I picked up 10 AA batteries for two dollars, and a small CD holder. In retrospect, I should've bought three cases instead of one, but it's okay.
Members homestar_kevin
Don't thank me. Keith SIO and I found/started making these at the same time, but through a series of bad things, work, school, laziness and other {censored} I still haven't finished Jimihalens. Members andrew_k
I'd be afraid that I would put my foot right through it.The smaller one is fine:I weigh 95kg (> 200lb) and can stand on the middle of mine without concern that it will break. You can't see them on mine because I painted over them, but the legs are held on with multiple hardened steel brackets. Every wood joint I've added is glued with liquid nails as well as being held in with brass wood screws.
Members squareking
^ Nice! What kind of tuner is that? I've seen them a few times around here, but I always forget the name.

PE Waves pedal tuner. $35-$40 new, true bypass, optional mute while tuning, every bit as accurate as the Boss I used to use IMO.

Members Gomez315
All in all the board cost about 6 or 7 dollars with the paint. I am very happy with the board but I am going to be adding more pedals and changing a lot of them too.
Members houseofglass21
Got a couple of these today at Ikea. Roamed around the whole store asking where they were and finally found them. So to hopefully save somebody the trouble, assuming all Ikea's are set-up the same way (probably), they were on the first floor in the self-serve area.
