Members placebo62 Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 I've just sold some stuff, and always like to buy new gear with gear sold. I have a pretty good idea of what I'll buy, but just curious what you folks would drop it on?
Members LightHouses Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 Probably a fender tele. One of the worn in customshop ones. The wear might be nerdy but they sure play and sound better than the other stuff out there.
Members SylphCo. Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 I'd make a Bass VI. Failing that, hookers and blow.
Members skitzy Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 hookers and blow. i was expecting that to be the first response
Members WickedWesley Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 Hmm, if I had 2k right now to spend on gear, I'd probably buy another Les Paul. I've got the money right now, but I can't justify buying another one. Probably gonna get myself a strat first, next year or so
Members johanwastaken Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 Epiphone Casino, the Bigsby version. Probably sell my AC15 to get an AC30 so that I'd be safe for gigs and also because bridging the channels is hardcore. Pitchblack, OD3 and RV5. Probably a DMM. Then I wouldn't know what to buy next.

Members SylphCo. Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 whats he hells a Bass VI? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_VI Six stringed, short-scaled, Jaguar-shaped bass sex.
Members placebo62 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Members Posted June 9, 2008 For most musicians, the idea of having that much money to spare (after the hookers and blow, of course) is a bit fanciful, but it's a nice thought. I dunno man, I frequently see here people with $1000+ pedalboards, half a dozen guitars and a couple of nice amps. You sell a couple of things, big things...sure..but 2k isnt that hard to fathom is it?

Selling expensive gear definitely allows for a big spend up, but often money comes and goes in smaller amounts, as musicians aren't known for being the most diligent money-savers.
Members placebo62 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Members Posted June 9, 2008 perhaps... But there are as many accountants and engineers here as there are 'musicians'.
Members Faldoe Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 Vintage Jazzmaster I there was anything left over I'd get the new small EHX Micro Synth
Members Lanefair Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 I probably wouldn't spend it on gear. Unless of course I had to, in which case, a nice 1x12 cab and a 15 watt head of some sort, a white strat with maple neck and if I had anything left, some BYOC kits.
Members Timmott Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 MIJ Fender Jaguar in Vintage white with Tortoise Shell pickguard, Line 6 DL4, Boss TU-2, a Case for my TSL, an Ernie Ball volume pedal, and a Classic 50's Telecaster. I think thats it .

I think thats it . Is there a reason you would get the TU-2 over more accurate tuners for the same price like Korg DT-10 or Pitchblack?
Members MathiasWilliam Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 a riccy 330Simon, that's exactly what i'd buy. Well that or a AC30/AC15 Played one of these:My gosh it was amazing, it was into an ext cab, Brilliant cleans, and with a tad stronger strum you could get it to feedback beautifully,It was the most sexual feeling to my ears.
Members placebo62 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Members Posted June 9, 2008 Vintage Jazzmaster I there was anything left over I'd get the new small EHX Micro Synth Nice choices. There is an amazing Jazzmaster at Pmblues.com at the moment, a 1961 in sonic blue. But its $4400 ..I'm thinking I might get the new xo microsynth too
Members placebo62 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Members Posted June 9, 2008 Probably a TTE ,and 3 or 4 back up necks for my beloved tele . I think I'd be set for a while , I go through frets about every 3 or 4 years , thus the necks .wow, you must play those suckers hard

Now you're talkin.A 360/12c63 is exactly what I'm going to spend the cash on.
Members King Loudness Posted June 9, 2008 Members Posted June 9, 2008 Well, considering I already own a Parker Fly Deluxe, I'd grab a Mesa Boogie Mark IV and a Peavey JSX [both used of course] and a Lopoline oversized 1x12 with a WGS British Lead.
