OT - Speaker suggestions for Traynor Guitarmate

Just got an old Traynor Guitarmate and am looking to get a new 12" speaker for it. I tend to go for more fender type sounds and want to maximise it for surf type sounds and use pedals for overdrive. Was wondering what Weber or Jensen speaker would sound best in it.

Bear in mind its around 18-20 watts.

I know this is a pedal forum but people here seem more into fender type amps than or the amp forum.

Cheers for your help

I had a Cornell Romany Plus, a very Fendery 10-watt amp. It was equipped with a Jensen MOD 12/70 ceramic speaker and I loved the sound. I'd go for a ceramic magnet speaker, although some of the alnico Jensens like the P12R sound good, if you're after that Fender sound.

Traynors are underrated amps. I tried a couple when I was in Toronto and liked them. Good link here on a bit of background history (http://www.tone-lizard.com/Traynor_Amplifiers.htm).

You want power, little boy? Try out the YBA-3A 'Super Custom Special' (Pete had a problem with modesty). Why use plain old 6L6's when you can use four 6KG6 TV horizontal output tubes and crank out 250 watts RMS before clipping. It was not unheard of to find a YBA-3A that scoped out at 400 watts with all controls 'dimed'. The YBA-3A was sold with two 8X10" speaker cabinets. The rumor is that Dan Armstrong smuggled one over to Ampeg, who quickly produced the SVT shortly thereafter. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

Ouch. 400 watts?!?
