Members conky
Anybody know what gear Buzzo used on their Houdini album? In particular the song Honey Bucket?
Members murch33
Historically it's been old solid state Sunn power amps, but I don't know specifically about that album or song.
Members conky
I've heard that too. I've also heard they used Marshalls with Rats and Big Muff's but I'm not sure.
Members taco-man
I only have heard what Buzzo uses live recently. His Les Paul through two BOSS ODB-3s, a BOSS delay, Sunn Beta Lead, Carver power amps, 2x15 speakers, and two 4x12s. Something like that. When he is interviewed about gear used in the studio, he says he uses all kinds of different things at different times and doesn't keep track of it. Members christianatl
I've been searching youtube and I can't find the video, but Buzz switches up his gear now and then. Get ready for the shocker...he uses a Boss bass od for a lot of his dirty tones.

Members Frank Drebin
Buzzo's awesome! The Melvins are, to this day, one of the loudest shows I have ever seen. It's a toss up between them and Dinosaur Jr. Of course, it probably doesn't help that I was right up front for both shows.
Members Liberty Belle
Dinosaur Jr was the loudest show I ever saw too.BTW, honey bucket is a sick song, sick sick sick!
Members theinteriorleag
bit OT, but I am so happy Big Business (has Jared of Karp and Tight Bros. From Way Back When) is getting some recognition touring with the Melvins and working as the Melvins rhythm section. Great Bands.
Members TheGareth
I'd still love to hear someone demo a Boss Bass Overdrive on guitar!

I saw Big Business a while back in Atlanta and they didn't impress me at all. They sounded like ass live and the effect the singer has on his mic was annoying as {censored} when he talked to the crowd between songs. They are my girlfriend's favorite band and even she said they weren't good live. That being said though I'd see them again. It could have been the club, but I doubt it... the other bands that night sounded great.
Members Byronamatron
Not the DOD Buzz Box. This was a joke on DOD by Buzz, IIRC.

Members speon
I remembered a bit back in the day about The Melvins using rolled up carpet for tones, but after googling, it turns out it was for vocals, not guitar tone. Still, an interesting trick nonetheless...http://mixonline.com/mag/audio_retro_destructo/

Members jo_to_2
No black Les Paul Custom?!? No. However, apparently it wasn't a Travis Bean but a custom guitar by this company. Easy mistake to make when you consider the headstock...not to mention the amount of poison in my body at the time.
