I don't want to sound like Santana or the myriad of late 90's over produced adult rock one hit wonder bands that used them.

 

 

i feel the same way. they play extremely well and are very comfortable to me though, which are obviously more important than the stigma, but still. i guess im just a classic vibe type of guy...fender/gibson/rick etc.

Joke aside, its mainly a price thing for me. I played one of the SE's at a shop when amp demoing and quite enjoyed it, but not enough to buy it. It lacked character. I know that sounds lame, but guitars just speak to you in that certain way, and the SE I tried just didn't do it. And the regular ones are too pricey for me to look at.

Overpriced, underconstructed, marketed with lies and elitism. Doctors toy? Absolutely.

Also, they're just not that interesting. Meh sound, no special tonal characteristic, very bad playability(playability isn't just the action. Have you guys seen the ridiculous neck joint?)
