Members Small Stone
Just bought a Dungen CD, and man, Tame Impala REALLY took a lesson or two from them... Both bands are amazing!

If you deny the power of the Bee Gees, then you are wrong.
Members Jaron
i got tickets to see them in december, i heard mentioned above that their live show is lacking. this true?
Members Fender&EHX4ever
Definitely sounds like they need to work on the groove a bit on this one... it's dragging, and it doesn't have that pimp-walk funk of the studio recording. Members Jaron
seems good, i guess ppl must have been pointing out that they arent super exciting, but when i bought tickets i was anticipating a chill show

I think that LS-2 in the corner is routed out to that Microkorg, and its setup to do that synthy octave noise thing. This is what I'm guessing anyways, probably totally wrong. Fooled around with Guitar Rig + mah Whammy pedal. Got in the ballpark. http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/4/...tameimpala.mp3

Just guitar > Whammy octave up + dry > M-Box, and then into Logic using Guitar Rig 4. Could have probably got a little closer if I spent some more time on what amp was used, but the signal chain in GR4 was: cranked Micro Synth > RE-301 > Octaver > Verb > JC-120. Shoulda payed more attention on friday night as to whether it was Dom or Kev flanging during Expectation...

Members thezeng
Look guys, I just want to know what the {censored} the effect is on Alter Ego and Why Don't You Make Up Your Mind etc is. It is actually making me inside TVD got there, but I swear it's way less complicated then it really is. I even asked a fansite, and they said it was just a pitch-shifter. But 'just' pitchshifters don't make that awesome shimmery sound! I love Tame Impala.
Members Instrospection
I like what i've heard from the band--I hear a strong Todd Rundgren influence, which is fitting since the band says that they're influenced by the Nazz. I still need to pick up the new cd.

In the vids of Jeremys Storm and Alter ego for Viva or whatever that radio stations called, there are no pedals noticeable on the pedal board that could make such a sound, yet there is a microkorg sitting on the left of Dom. As long as those were the only two songs they played, there is no other reason for the microkorg to be there besides for use with the guitar to make that sound.
