Members -groovatious-
Sound xplorer - thanks for the info. On my ion, the main outs right channel is fine and the left one is virtually no volume with a high pitched whine. This is exactly the same when wearing headphones - right ear ok, left ear - soft and whine. Would this mean that it's not the FET?? I remember someone saying they had to replace the volume knob to fix the problem - this seems more likely the cause as both main outs and headphone outs have the same problem and both are connected to the main volume knob. What do you think?
Members soundxplorer
groovatious - my headphones seemed to work fine, and my problem didn't have a high pitched whine (just really low volume level). So it may be that your problem is different. I can't really say what it might be, but the volume knob is worth a try.
Members telephet
This thread is very old, but this issue lives on! I have a dead micron as well. The left channel has a 50 hertz hum on it, and the sound on the right channel is so flaky its unusable. It sounds like a power supply issue, but when i took it to an experienced synth technician, he said it wasn't a problem with the power supply or volume knob. He said it was more likely a faulty part within the unit that is drawing too much power. The local Australian distributors however, refused to give him any information or schematics, so he couldn't fix it for me. Anyone have the schematics or know what could be wrong with it?
