Members kbzona
I have a variax electric guitar also, but still cannot get that nylonish sound any ideas?? maybe some patch in workbench??
Members peridot1
I don't think there is. Even acoustic modelers are not very good. Nylon strings guitars are fairly cheap and sound good. Yamahas are a good deal.
Members sethlover
Rhythm or lead guitar? Rhythm you might be able to get away with samples. Lead is more difficult. As stupid as this sounds a cheap Ukulele with great strings [Aquila] can cop some pretty convincing classical guitar solos. Might set you back $40. Members germanicus2112
I have a variax electric guitar also, but still cannot get that nylonish sound any ideas?? maybe some patch in workbench?? Some have made workbench variax nylon string patches. The acoustic variax 700 has a good nylon string emulation. The vg99 does a good one as well. Members vinnies
the piezo pickup on my guitar kind of sounds like gut strings. not perfect, but close.
Members Kassanova
None of the VSTi are great but there is one that is almost tolerable:Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) Strum acoustic GS-1. Its not great by any stretch but its got a couple of okay patches in it.
Members kbzona
I think that my last resort is string my electric guitar with nylon strings! since there are not good effects that can emulate that plastic nylon sound...
Members germanicus2112
You can supposedly get good results on a regular variax by using nylon strings. Also, heres a nylon patch:http://line6.com/community/message/1261#1261
Members Daeveed
This is hard. It's like saying, what can I add to this steak so it tastes like pure salt? Or maybe I'm just high.....or hungry......or both.

Members KJSAV
Not about money but performance convenience. I play 12 string, 6 string acoustic, electric rhythm/ lead, dobro etc on variax. That’s the beauty of it. I own a nice nylon string. But it would be cool to do some of the Latin type stuff with Variax.
