Members Supreme Pancake
Undying love for EHX here - products, tones, innovation, attitude, pricing, graphics, history, product naming.... absolutely the best across the board. Pretty much. As far as the major companies go. I wish more were ballsy.

Members Fender&EHX4ever
Hey Fen&EHX, what did you think of that 70's Black Finger you scored a month or so ago? I need to put a soundclip up soon, if I can find some time. It is not a transparent compressor/sustainer, at all. It pretty much alters your guitar tone completely, but it does exactly what it is meant to do - sustain your notes out. I would not use it as a standard compressor, especially not for chords. It's strength is in lead melodies. At extreme settings, the sustain is so pronounced that it verges on feedback, like a hollowbody that gets too close to the amp. With the chords using the lower E and A strings, the BlackFinger's circuit seems to overload, so you can hear a subtle bit of low frequency distortion on the trails of the chords. You wouldn't hear it in a live situation, but you do in isolation. It's not a terribly displeasing distortion, but it isn't completely clean. The tone knob has a super-wide range, and is quite useful for cutting through a mix. If you are looking for a more versatile EHX compressor, I would go with the reissue BlackFinger, the WhiteFinger, or a Soul Preacher. If you want a sustainer for clean or distorted melodic leads, it is a very cool pedal.
Members solewheelin
Hey man! It was the "distortion free sustainer" that had my curiosity piqued. This was the only pedal of its kind, was it not?You should definitely do a demo of it. Theres not too much info on its actual tone anywhere. Mostly just poor reviews. I'll bet you can find the sweet spot.Clean sustain sounds good to me if thats what it can do.The E and A distorting I can deal with. Its a give and take. Thanks
Members jlantsberger
I haven't played a whole ton of their pedals, but I love a Muffs and DMMs. I also love EHX if only for pioneering effects like they did and they continue to put out cool/weird stuff. I think I would love them more if I could afford to buy more of their stuff.
Members johnrambo
EHX i love how their pedals are quirky and unique sounding and capable of such crazy settings. i've only tried 1 or 2 that i didn't like compared to probably 10-15 that i've really thought were cool. Members costch
How can anybody hate EHX? Here's a completely objective fact:Electro Harmonix is the best effect pedal maker there ever was and ever will be. So there. I have a meager score of EHX though. Small StoneSmall CloneBig Muff PiPOGMetal MuffStereo Electric Mistress I hope to obtain a Double Muff, Deluxe Electric Mistress, Mini Q-Tron, and Deluxe Memory Man eventually. I better get the Double Muff first. I have a creeping suspicion that it won't be around for much longer. That could be said of any "classic" enclosure pedal, I suppose. Members kidgloves
I adore Electro Harmonix. If I didn't have a weird, compulsive desire to limit the amount of pedals that I place on my pedalboard from any single manufacturer at a given time, I'd probably have everything they own. Still, 3 of the 7 that I use now are EHX. They're a soundscaper's dream, really.
Members Noise...
Lately I've been pretty love/hate. I still dig my SMMH, and want a DMM, but basically, aside from the SMMH, my board is EHX free. Even my Big Muff is up for sale. If I find a DL4 it may knock the SMMH off the board too. Members solewheelin
I'm currently looking for an old Worm. I have the XO, but I want to judge for myself and see if there is a difference in depth control between each of the range knobs.
Members The Lou-Dog
EHX is pretty hit and miss IMO. The Big Muff's there making at the moment aren't great, but that being said, the variations on the Big Muff's seem to be cool, and the DMM and SMMH are awesome. They also keep prices relatively reasonable, so i give them
