Members TravvyBear
Okay I want to take this vocal sound: http://foxtrotband.bandcamp.com/album/so-crimson To a live setting. Wat do vocals? I was thinking a Shure Green Bullet.

Members TomCTC
My singer uses one of these. It's quite awesome for the lo-fi thing.
Members TravvyBear
My singer uses one of these. It's quite awesome for the lo-fi thing. Thats another thing I was looking at. How lo-fi is it? I don't want it super distorted to where it's in audible, but I do want it noticeable.
Members Stackabones
Unless you hold the Green Bullet, it can be difficult to mount on a mic stand. It can be done though -- I did some research a while ago and there are some mounts you can get. The Boss looks cool, but I wonder if there isn't something simpler and cheaper? Its definitely noticeable compared to the dry unaffected vocal.
Members Stackabones
Just read this ...http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?995853-What-Mic-for-lo-fi-AM-Radio-sounding-vocals&p=12631632&viewfull=1#post12631632 Run the mic through a graphic EQ and set it with an upside-down V. I've got a lil cheapo Dano EQ that may just work.

Phil O'Keefe
Impressive. And they're not terribly expensive either - about $129 "street." You could use a graphic EQ to "bandpass filter" the signal - cutting lows and highs and leaving just the midrange - which is essentially what a telephone does - but that doesn't give you the distortion, and when running a vocal mic straight into a pedal, there are all kinds of level and impedance mismatch issues that you have to dodge around... same with getting the signal out of the pedals and then back into the PA... a dedicated processor like that makes a lot more sense IMO. Members figjamaussie
Megaphone? Looks the part and gives you a cool distorted tone. I mounted one to a mic stand once by drilling into the handle and screwing it on

They sound awesome! But too pricey for me.
Members Terminus
Yeah, the copperphone is awesome too. Jack white runs one through a tremolo probe and into his amp. A pretty cool solution, but not really feasible unless you're, well, Jack White.

Members damacy
Probably a cheaper solution compared to the Copperphone. And plus an EQ.
