Members sparkfriction
Blackstar AMPs are great what i know... Who can tell me more about the HT 1 and the Emulated Out for direct recording? cheers
Members bieke
I have the HT-5, it also has the Emulated Out for direct recording, personally, I did not like it, it works like a charm, but the amp (don't know if the HT-1 behaves the same) lacks bottom end, it all sounded sooooo trebly and thin, expecially when recording a cleanish guitar track, the distortion channel is a bit over the top for my taste, I'm hanging on to my HT-5 combo, because it's still a practical little amp, and with a 2x12 cab hooked up, it's loud enough for practice or small gigs
Members Johansolo
havent used the HT1, but i have owned/had the HT-4. HT-20, HT-60 and HI-DistXthe emulated out on all of them have been beyond usable for DI recording. got a few clips and comparisons of the Emulated vs Mic in my sig. Members sparkfriction
thanks for the infos - a.t.m. i use my Demonizer for recording. the Celan Tone is good - but sometimes way to compressed without enough output and i have to push the input channel - it is really not bad, but for clean alone i awnt more dynamics. Or better a more "open" clean tone.

The gain is just a matter of taste, I think, for me it's just right. I keep the gain around noon and boost the {censored} out of it.
Members sparkfriction
to bad - i want it just for cleans and DI Anyway, i'll save some money to fund a egnater rebel or something like this. ok is more as ercording unit, but a nice amp for my mencave is also welcome
Members Sensates
The Vox Lil Train will be a good option for not much money..

It's just not the amps strong suit. If I wanted a low watt, clean amp, I would probably be looking at the VHT Special 6 Ultra or one of the Ampeg GVTs (if they are any good) or probably a Vox AC4 since I love vox cleans. Members sparkfriction
ah ok, gotcha t-rey oh yeah the new Special 6 Ultra is intressting for sure...
Members t-rey
Indeed it is. I'm not sure if it has a direct out, but it sure is a lot of amp for the price. I will eventually have one for my 'clean amp' as well, but I should and probably will pick up a Jet City 22h before that for some baby SLO tones. Members Trick Fall
The distorted output on the ht5 is ok for direct recording, but if recording direct is the priority you should look inti the tech 21 character pedals. I have the leeds and there are times i prefer it even over miking up marshall.

I have the leeds and there are times i prefer it even over miking up marshall. thanks for the hint - but the tech 21 charachter series are definitely not the right recording tool. sound is ok and some of the pedals emulated the aimed amp very good - but i really need an Tube PreAmp with Direct Out and good clean tones. More options like 3 band EQ and FX Loop are welcome... Bevor i start with the Tech 21 for recording i would test the AMT Legend Amps Pedals or the SS Pre Amp. but again thank you- if i need a short part with a different or special tone i would also use one of the tech 21 pedals. - good sounding stuff. i see myself ending with a new pricy amp, that is to loud for my flat and without direct out the Egnater Rebel comes with direct out - have to read more specs and reviews. -.-
Members Trick Fall
I have never been to impressed with tohe direct outs on amps. If you want to go that route you might want to look into a palmer speaker simulator. That way you could use any amp and volume will not be an issue. Members sparkfriction
yeah thats the best way... but i am ampless a.t.m. and wont something small for my flat with direct out option. i used long time line6 POD 2 and my Damage Control Demonizer - great results. Demonizer is still the master for duo recti like high gain. Clean is also great, but for some stuff way to compressed and a bit scooped. the Palmer idea is sure another great option - imo the best, but i need some amp first

Members sparkfriction
yea the red box is maybe cheaper... but this speaker sim boxes are so different in sound. i am really happy with my home/preamp setup and i used/owend great amps over the years - i dont need an AMP for Band/Gigs anymore... oh i playd also few gigs just with the demonizer over the P.A. - sound was abslout ok for the stage. Members Bobbyingals
Do you need to hook a speaker cabinet up while using the direct out?
