Members thezeng
Hey guys, I recently got a Teenage Engineering OP-1 second hand. I reckon all of you should check one out as it is a lot more useful then it may appear on first glance. Certainly not a toy IMO. The price is a little prohibitive though, but i really think its worth it. I've never had a synth before so I don't have anything to compare its sound with, but in my opinion they sound great anyway. There's a million and one things you can do on this machine that I can't go into detail with, but here's a little track I made with a vocal sample of myself () and onboard synths, the sequencer and sampler. Apologies if it sounds stupid to you because it probably is http://snd.sc/sgiJgg

Members Fender&EHX4ever
Nice soundclip! Does the OP1 also act as a midi controller? If so, I might be interested in it!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it does but I haven't used it for that yet since I don't know what that actually means... hahaha but thanks man! I just read the product page. It is indeed a controller. I seriously dont have money to spend on more gear, but damn....
Members tape
congrats! if you've never tried a real synth, it's not really like one at all, apart from having an ADSR (the envelope). you don't really control oscillators and filters and that sort of traditional stuff. it's its own thing. it's kind of like a really souped up casio keyboard. Members A.P. Ryder
$850.00 new. I wanted one for quite a while, but everytime I got the message that they were available I would check the site and find out they were sold out again. Then I spent all of my money on some new fuzzes. No OP-1 for me. Have fun with that thing!
Members nomenclature
pretty much one of the only things I'm still gassing for. I never have the cash for one when they finally get more made though, and the price makes me hesitate. I haven't looked into seeing if they've got all the bugs sorted yet or not either. Members THAT4301
They're really cool and I'd love one, but the keybed looks horrible.
Members tape
They're really cool and I'd love one, but the keybed looks horrible. yeah it's not weighted or anything. but to their defense, you don't really have a choice when you want to keep things that small. they do "sink" a little more than they look like they would, though. a little more than the laptop keyboard I have. Members THAT4301
I suppose you could just use an external controller but it just seems... Incompatible with the price bracket for me. When you factor in a controller you open up the door to a lot of competition for that money.
Members Donald Draper
These seem really cool. Nice clip too.
Members Matt Gnarly
I've been interested in one for a while but they're too expensive in my opinion, if the price was around $600 and I'd buy one.
Members Trick Fall
Would love to get one of these and if they were closer to 500.00 I probably would. Nice clips.....
