In that Joy Division documentary when he talks about Ian Curtis dying he pretty much says that at the time he didn't give a {censored}, and still doesn't. He comes across as a huge asshole. Typical British old man yob with no heart and probably a bad drinking problem. Whereas Bernie is nearly in tears when talking about Ian dying. Musicians put out albums because bands can't succeed for the long haul (with few exceptions). They either get pissy or they start sucking hard. Hook is clearly a righteous asshole, but he's also the most musically distinctive member of the band. If they're near me, the price of the ticket will probably determine whether or not I go.
