My Second DIY Pedal Build

Well, this one was much easier to build than my first one, Persuader Tube Drive. This is the Rattler, a fuzz face kinda clone. It uses two 2n3906 Si transistors. Are those good for fuzz tones? Will post a youtube soon.

Whatcha Think?

There isn't really a bad transistor, they're all just different "flavors". So with that, as CodeMonk said, if they sound good in that circuit than they're great.

3906's are silicon, so they are a little more aggressive than Germaniums. They're also cheaper, which is why they probably included them in this project.

2n3906's are PNP, which is positive ground like most old germanium transistors. Don't know why they wouldn't use the NPN counterpart, 2n3904s and tweak the circuit so it's negative ground like most pedals, and then you could put it on a one-spot. Seems kind of lazy on the part of modkitsdiy.com
